Book Blogger Hop

Billy from  The Coffee Addicted Writer blog has relaunched the Book Blogger Hop. Each week the hop will start on Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt just like before. The hop’s purpose will remain the same as it will give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

This week's topic is: What is your guilty pleasure read?

I enjoy the books I read and take pleasure with no guilt attached!  However the guilty pleasure part to books for me is:
  • When I buy more books and I already have so many sitting in my TBR pile.
  • When I sit on a Saturday morning and read, with house work, gardening chores still undone.
  • When I chose to read the books 'just for me', instead of taking time out to read the books I want to also read to book talk books to my 12 and 13 year old students.
  • When I read late into the evening, and then feel grouchy the next day because I didn't get enough sleep.

    2. I'm not a morning person to begin with, so it doesn't bother me any. Plus, I'm a natural night owl.

  2. I love how you broke down your guilty pleasures! I can relate to buying more books than I could actually read. Have a great weekend!

    1. Thanks Whitney. I guess most of us buy more than we can read. That's why we do things like blog hops! It feeds our addiction!

  5. I would highly recommend the Avatar books for your students. The great thing about them is that even though it's marketed to young children, it's a story and a set of characters that transcends age. I'm sure many of your students are already Avatar:The Last Airbender fans or at least the new one they have out The Legend of Korra, which features a female taking over the role as Avatar after Aang passes.

I hate to get all emotional but it's such a great story, I'd recommend the books(or show) to anyone!

  8. Love your answer! I can certainly identify with all the points you made, except the one about your kids, since sadly, I don't have any...

My biggest problems are numbers 1 and 4. I'm such a HUGE book addict!! If I see an interesting book, either on the Internet or in a bookstore, I just HAVE to have it. Period. If I bravely resist buying it, that book will stick in my brain and keep bothering me until I give in! Lol.

As for point #4, I can't count the number of times I've been grouchy at work because of lack of sleep the night before, because of a book I couldn't put down! I wish I could win the lottery, just so I wouldn't have to work, and be able to read (and blog about books, natch!) all the time!!!

So I can really relate to you, fellow book lover!! Books are THE most important, most wonderful objects in this world!! (And I keep wanting more and more of them....)

Happy Reading, and have a GREAT weekend!! :)
