Book blogger Hop

Billy from  Ramblings of a Coffee Addict blog has relaunched the Book Blogger Hop. Each week the hop will start on Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt just like before. The hop’s purpose will remain the same as it will give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

This week's question is:  What is your favourite genre?  And share a book from that genre.

Sometimes I find it difficult to name the genre I most like!  I think it's women's fiction - contemporary, with a strong romantic element.

So to give you a general idea these are some of the authors and books that I favour and recommend.

Kristan Hannah                          Winter Garden
Susan Mallery                            Barefoot Season
Susan Wiggs                             The Ocean Between Us
Emilie Richards                          Wedding Ring
Robyn Carr                                The House on Olive Street.
Wendy Wax                               The Accidental Bestseller

So, there you are.

  3. Contemporary women's fiction is one of my favorites too. I just finished a book called Coming Up for Air by Patti Callahan Henry that was wonderful.

  4. I like women's fiction too, is that the same as chic-lit? I love Sophie Kinsella and Cecilia Ahern in that genre anyhow :D

    1. Women's Fiction and Chic-lit? I think they are closely related, but I hardly ever stray over into chic-lit as well defined by the two authors you mention. I think they both have their own style and themes. I am not inclined to value one over the other. It all comes down to personal preference in reading and I guess writing. To be honest I find it hard often to put a book into a genre - and I think publishing houses do too!

  5. Kristin Hannah became a new favorite author for me after I read Night Road. I liked Winter Garden as well!
