It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading?
Sheila at Book Journey runs It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Well here we are again - Mondays seem to come around very quickly. Had a busy week last week. A school on the same block as our school, had a big fire last Sunday night and lost 4 classrooms and their library.  We have been making room for them so they can use some of our empty spaces. 13 year old girls burnt them down! Can you believe it.  It is the oldest school in our district and they lost all their photos etc, as the library went up along with the classrooms.

My car magnet arrived and I am very happy with the way it printed out!
You'll notice I caught myself in the window.  Ignore the dent, I had an argument with the local supermarket trolley stand last year sometime. The trolley stand won!

I had a so so week of walking.  I managed four days of 30 minutes.  However was a little tired at the end of the week, plus nasty weather and I just didn't do the fifth day. Hoping for five though this week.

Reviews posted last week:
All You Need is Love  by Marie Force

What I read last week:
The Homecoming. Book cover
I can always rely on Robyn Carr for a good story.

Until You. Book Cover
A reread.  Interesting - had forgotten a good deal of it!

Just finished this audiobook.
Going to enjoy this series, I read #11 first - Swan Point!
So now back at #1.

At present I am reading:
I've just started Sandpiper Island by Donna Kauffman

Beginning to listen to:
River Road by Jayne Ann Krentz.

Just finished viewing:
I have been watching A Place to Call Home - an Australian drama that I loved.  It was like an Australian equivalent of Downton Abbey!  It's been sitting on my recorder since 2013, which is great because season 2 is about to air here in NZ.  I won't have to wait. I don't watch a lot of TV, but this one grabbed me and I was watching two a night!

  2. Car magnet looks awesome!! What did the students think? I love A Place to Call Home too, funnily enough I'd not long started on season 1 as it's been on my planner too long. Another awesome Aussie drama but it's contemporary, The Time of Our Lives. Have you seen it?

I'm not off to a good start with walking this week, don't want to do anything today as the wind is absolutely howling and Bella hates the wind lol ok so do I. I'll try again tomorrow. Have a good week of walking and reading Kathryn :)

    1. Students suitably impressed! I haven't heard of The Time of Our Lives but I will look it up. So impressed by A Place to Call Home - outstanding acting.
Wind really puts me off walking too, I think we may be in for the weather you have just had.

  4. I enjoyed River Road. I hope you like it too. So sorry to hear about the fire. It must be awful for the school to lose all that history and its library. You can see my week here. Happy reading!

    1. Yes, when I was so enthused about the drama I googled it, and saw that they were about to cut it or had cut it because of low viewer numbers. Oh well, what they did do is great.

  6. Great magnet...it really dresses up your car and is sure to be a conversation starter. So sorry to hear about the school fire. Thank goodness no one was hurt.

Enjoy your new reads and walking sessions...thanks for visiting my blog.

  7. Love the magnet! So cool....and your books look good, too, although I have never read any of these authors...yet. Enjoy! And thanks for visiting my blog.

Fire in a school is so sad....

  8. That is terrible about the school. What is wrong with people!?
The magnet came out great! I did enjoy Judith McNaught and wouldn't mind re-reading her...except there are sooo many books and too little time. :-)
I hope this is a good week for you.

I know, you have to wonder about how some people's minds think.
I know what you mean about rereading - I want to read books I enjoyed years ago, but so many new books beckon!
