Book Blog Walkers Check In 12 September

This challenge is organised by Felicia over at the Geeky Blogger's Book Blog.

Saturday:   35 min walk
Sunday:      35 min walk
Monday:    30 min walk
Tuesday:     30 min walk
Wednesday:  rest day
Thursday:   30 min walk
Friday:         rest day

Happy with the week and I'm enjoying seeing how I can add in those extra fitbit steps. So even though today Friday was a rest day, I still got in just over 5000 steps which is good.

The discussion in our staff room has been all about sugar lately! We had a great programme on TV in NZ recently and I became more aware of the problems that sugar may be causing our general population.  More aware now as I watch labels to see what sugar has been added to products. I do not want to become obsessive about sugar, however I am taking a hard look at it.

The weather has been great, very spring like. Feels like winter was hardly a blip on the year.

I have started listening to What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty while I walk and really enjoying it.

  1. Yes - that fitbit is great for making you more aware of just how many (or how little) steps you are getting. Whenever I go shopping, I purposely park far away from the doors to get those steps in, and when at the malls, I take the stairs instead of elevators. All those steps really add up at the end of the day!

Sugar seems to be quite the hot topic these days. I do try to limit my consumption, but it's hard at times! Plus I love my tea with sugar...can't do without it!!!

I'm listening to The House We Grew Up In by Lisa Jewel right now. Haven't read/listened to What Alice Forgot yet but it's on my list. Have you read or listened to her latest - Big Little Lies? It's so good!!! I read it, but would imagine it would be quite good on audio!

    Have a great week!!!

    1. Yes, sugar is a hot topic, I've decided to just be moderate about it. It's all the ways it is added to food and we don't realise that I am watching now more closely.
I may end up listening to Big Lies, Little Lies or just might read it.
The fitbit makes me realise how much walking I do in a working day - I never realised how much I walk about the school!

  3. I'm a bit of a sugar addict, I figure with high blood pressure and kidney probs I focus more on salt reduction and fewer processed foods, (which does cut down sugar too) that's my excuse anyway and I'm sticking to it lol. Glad you're enjoying What Alice Forgot, I was going to read Big, Little Lies, but 20th Sept I've got the audio to download from our library so I can't wait! Well done on your exercise and 5000 steps on rest days is awesome!!

    1. Yes me too for high blood pressure so I monitor salt. I am amazed at the sugar in processed foods - quite scary actually, it gives a false sense of not eating sugar!
