It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading?
Sheila at Book Journey runs It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Last week we had what we call Mission Day at our school, where we have a morning where we raise money to send from our school  to various charities.  I have organised it for about 30 years, having taken over from the previous person. This one was my last.  Yay!  We dress up, play games and sell all the stuff that has come back probably from the previous year.  That's me in the yellow t-shirt which says Gone Reading!  This year I had chosen dress up to be "I wish I ...." Joan is the belly dancer, she teaches 6 - 7 year olds. I taught her when she was an eight year old many moons ago!

Hope all those in the USA had a great Thanksgiving and are still feeling the good effects of a holiday.

This week I signed up for Book Bloggers Holiday Exchange Card I noticed a tweet sent out from one of the regulars on this meme and decided to join up - sounded a fun thing to do.

I also posted up a challenge Full House Reading Challenge 2015

My new Paperwhite Kindle arrived and its purple cover. It arrived really quickly, I ordered it on Amazon USA Thursday night (NZ time) and it arrived Tuesday morning (NZ time). I just chose ordinary shipping too.  Oh and the Paperwhite is fantastic to read on, although I still love my older one.

What I read:
Another excellent book in the Guild Hunter series

The Violets of March
Audiobook version - really liked it.

Anthology of interesting fantasy/paranormal novellas

What I am reading now:

Breathing Room by Susan Elizabeth Phillips - audio book.  Reread
Bet Me Jennifer Crusie  - Reread

Up next:
I want to finish a challenge so it will be a reread. I have learned this year that even though I have many keepers on my shelf I want to reread, when it comes to the stack of TBR and the reread the TBR wins!  However I am wired to complete challenges I start!

  3. Wow 30 years doing Mission Day, that's an amazing effort. I did the Book Bloggers Holiday Card Exchange in 2012, should sign up again as it was lots of fun ... being away for a month, December has come around way too fast ... hard to believe! So glad you liked Violets of March. It's been on my TBR stack for *cough* a couple of years, I really like Sarah Jio, so can't believe I haven't read it yet.
I have been shocking with updating my challenges, I think I've finished a few so that makes me even more hopeless lol. Should I still sign up for 2015 and vow to do better haha.
Have a wonderful week and happy reading :)

    1. I think your December will go very fast now you are back and catching up with all things 'home'. I have found with challenges I need to be organised and have learned from Kristin over at Always With a Book because she is organised. I see many bloggers are putting their challenges all on one post. That helps them. I fell down this year going back to the challenge blog to post reviews etc for some of the challenges. I also found one blog had disappeared!

  5. Sounds like a great event Kathryn - and how lovely to see you wearing your t-shirt! I've participated in the card swaps every year but can't afford to do so this year :( It so much fun though!

    Enjoy that Paperwhite!

I'm depressed you're signing up for 2015 events already. I'm in denial about the whole end-of-year thing!!!

    1. Great nice to know someone else is doing it. I understand though about bloggers not doing it because of the cost, but because I don't have a lot of outlay at this time of year I can do it so why not!
