It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading?
Sheila at Book Journey runs It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Hope you all had a great week.  I read mostly, but also joined a knitting group, we are knitting a nativity set for a raffle for our local school later in the year.  Discovered knitting and listening to an audiobook works well!  Went out to lunch and went to my niece's 40th birthday party.  The housework still mostly awaits, amazing when I have all day but....   I have organised for better insulation in the roof and a heat pump for the coming winter.  I like a wood burner but don't want that going all day.  Although that said we had another very pleasant hot week.

What I read last week:

book cover

  2. Kathryn, I'm keen to read some Diane Chamberlain. I'd never heard of her until a lot of US bloggers talked about The Silent Sister. She sounds like an author I'd like!!!

  5. I knew you would get to The Martian before me, can't wait to see what you think! And I've got Before the Storm and The Secrets She Left Behind still to read, I've been reading Diane Chamberlain for years but I never seem to get through her backlist before a new book is out lol.

I'd love to knit better than I do but that's something that will have to wait until my hands feel normal again. I can basic knit in a square but I'd love to be able to follow a pattern. Audiobook and knitting sounds perfect ... way more appealing than audiobook and walking haha. Have a wonderful week and happy reading :)

    1. Well I was a bit bored to be honest by the start of The Martian. Hope it picks up. I got both these DC books at the local book fair last year. Have only been reading her since last year. Blogging does that to a reader!
Knitting would not help your hands at present. I learned to knit as a youngster, but gave it up in recent years because who wears wool knits anymore in this age of lighter fibres and merino. Anyway just about finished a shepherd! Might end up being expensive because wool these days is not cheap.

  11. I need to try the first in the Survivors Club. I tried book 4 I think it was but it was too far into the series for me and I had a hard time getting into it. But I want to go back to the beginning and start there. I think it's one I'll enjoy when read in order :D

  12. Congratulations to Suko. Your knitting project sounds wonderful. I can imagine it would be enjoyable to listen to a book at the same time. Were looking at getting extra insulation for our high ceiling in our living room. Good luck getting yours done. I've enjoyed Diane Chamberlian in the past and read positive reviews about the Martian. Have a great week!

Just catching up on comments! Yes listened to audio and was hooked in by those rave reviews. It's fantasy and loved it. Loving the Survivor series too. Will share a pic of Nativity set once we have it completed. I have to sew up my shepherd and suddenly I have slowed, prefer the knitting to the sewing up!!
