My Read the Books You Buy Challenge.

This is a reading challenge hosted here. You can find all the details in the sign up post.

I find it helps me to keep track of what I have bought and what I have read. In 2016 the ones I didn't read I have transferred to a TBR reading challenge so that I can take time to read them. That makes me feel like I am in control of my spending, that I am reading what I am buying.

So the challenge allows for inclusion of books bought from July 2016 onwards until the end of December 2017. I'll just add to the  list as I buy and mark off as I read.

These are the levels
20% or less      Money Sitting on the Shelf.

20 - 40%          Making Inroads.

40 - 60 %         Moderately Successful

60 - 80 %        Maximising  Returns

80 - 100%       Mission Accomplished

If I have read about 65% of my books bought by the end of 2017 I'll count that a win, in 2015 it was 32%, 2016 will see me hopefully hitting 50%, so I want to keep on moving up!

  1. You know, I would love to do this challenge...except for this. If I were to choose the LOWEST level--20%--that would still be about 160 books, which is more than I can read in a year!

Yes, I have a TBR problem....

    1. OMG you buy that many books in a year. I am putting that around 600 books. Wowee.

  2. I'm intrigued by this challenge but at the same time terrified to actually have a count of the books I own and have bought! I think I'll just live vicariously through you!
