This week I decided to do a separate check in for fitreaders. During the week I was out walking and met up with a work colleague from way back- a visiting teacher, who sometimes worked in our school. She wanted to know if I would like to join her and a few others for a walking group. I declined because I like getting through audiobooks when out walking.
As we walked awhile together, I discovered she is now 82 years of age and a very keen walker. Well! If you can look nothing like 82 and be out walking (way faster than me) then walking is the way to go.
It inspired me to throw in a couple of longer walks in my week. Thought I might do three. But two longer ones is probably enough for now.
So anyway my week was good and achieved above my goal. Might be time to up my goal a little.
Wow, 82. Good for her!
ReplyDelete82 and still an active walker, that's great ! And congrats for walking more than your goal :) I'm afraid I skipped exercising regularly these past weeks, but once I'm fully recovered and rested, I'll get back to it.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on getting your steps in. I kind of like solitude too while out running on my own. I listen to my favorite jams when getting in my 3.5 miles 3-4 times a week.
ReplyDeleteI hope I'm still fitness walking when I'm 82!! Good job on your walks and steps!
ReplyDeleteI'm like you, I love listening to my audio books when I'm walking, but occasionally I do enjoy having company. My problem is that I don't have anyone to walk with on a regular basis. My mom, who does the 1/2 marathons with me, lives 10 hours away from me, so we don't often get to train together. Oh well! Goodness, 82 and still walking...that's motivation to keep going, that's for sure!!!
ReplyDelete82 - wow, that's really motivational! I hope I'm still active at that age! You did awesome this week - great job!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe if I listened to audio books on walks I'd do a lot more walking. I just started sort of logging this and realize that I sit at my desk an insane amount!
ReplyDelete82 wow that is inspirational!! Hope I'm still at it at that age. I'm like you, I enjoy walking with a friend occasionally but I love my audio time. Keep it up Kathryn!!
ReplyDeleteI hope I am still walking like that when I am 82! I usually walk alone to listen to audiobooks too. My fitbit is not charging properly, not sure why. Have a great week of walking.
ReplyDeleteGreat job!! I'm glad you were inspired.
ReplyDeleteI also prefer to walk and listen to audiobooks, but I've been working hard on going with others if asked - that way I'm also being social and it isn't all the time. But I totally understand what you mean! Great job!!
