It's Monday! What Are You Reading? 5th December

badge

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week.  It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog   and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, anything in the world of kidlit – join them!

Yikes I know! December ... how did that happen!

I had a good week, nothing outstanding, lots of gardening and weeding, well weeding mostly! I also finished a quilt, the one that saw me getting through a couple of audiobooks last week as I quilted it.
Here it is on the line drying.  No. I don't have a dryer!

Heart Quilt

I also set up my Full House Reading Challenge 2017 as it is that time of year. Came very quickly! I will host the Read the Books You Buy again for 2017 and will put up a post for sign up to that at some point in the coming week.

What I read last week:

I read/finished the following three, all worth the read. Tamar was set in New Zealand and an historical. The Look of Love was an audiobook that I enjoyed and Island of Glass was the final book in Nora Robert's most recent trilogy and very much enjoyed.

What I am reading at present:

My reading seems to have slowed, I guess there are other things to be achieved!

Listening to Endless Chain. It is a reread for me, and a good way to reread is to listen to the audio. I had chosen another book from Audible but returned it, thought it was dopey! After an hour of it I decided that was enough.

  1. Always frustrating when you are listening to a book that just doesn't work or has a horrible narration. Hope you are liking Breath of Fire. One of my most anticipated reads! Have a great week.

  2. Glad you had a nice week. :) I've been wanting to read a book by sarah Jio so whenever I see one of hers pop up it reminds me of that. Hope you had a great weekend!

  3. Lovely quilt... you're very clever. Thankless in Death isn't the new JD Robb is it? I think I've put in a request for one recently but can't remember when it was coming out!

  6. My reading was slow this week too. Your quilt looks great. I'm thinking about your Full House Challenge. Looks like it could be a lot of fun.

  7. The quilt looks really pretty. I wish it was summer here. In an ideal world I'd live here in Ohio during summer in the Northern hemisphere and live in Australia or New Zealand during summer in the Southern hemisphere :)

I enjoy rereading books by listening to audio too. I love that we can return books to Audible. I've returned a few lately. Thankfully I'm loving my current listen. I still have 3 credits to spend and I'm considering picking up some more books I want to reread like Jane Eyre. Have a great week!

  10. Breath of Fire looks like a nifty read I really dig the cover. I'm so jealous of your quilt. I want to learn but it seems so complex. I think your quilting skills are Amazing!

  11. I love audiobooks, and like you, I listen to them while I'm doing my handicrafts. I'm currently crocheting together a bedspread and I've already finished two audiobooks while working on it.

  12. A lovely quilt. I wish I could get away with audio books. So many things I could do whilst listening to them. Have a good week.

  19. What a beautiful quilt! You're very talented. My sewing skills are pretty much limited to sewing on buttons that fall off :)

Sounds like you had a good reading week - hope you enjoy your books this week, too!

  20. Great job on the quilt, Kathryn. Thanks for hosting the 2016 Challenges. I failed miserably this year! I did get all my quilting challenges done, but just hit a wall with the reading. I am not sure if I will participate in any challenges in 2017. I'm waffling between "yes, I will" and "no, I'll just fail again"!! Sad!!!

  22. What a great week you had Kathryn. Your quilt is wonderful! I will try to move up Emilie Richards. I have a small stack on my nightstand that needs to be tackled once I finish the last Lunar Chronicles book. I was too lazy to post today. I have to get those cards ready for the mail.

  23. Lovely, lovely quilt! I haven't returned an Audible yet although would have one or two older ones I would if I could.
The Look of Love looks cute. I thought I had an Emilie Richards title in my Audible Library but it must have just been in my ever expanding wish list.
    Have a good week!

  24. The quilt is absolutely beautiful!! I just recommended my library purchase Tamar, after seeing it here on your list for a couple of weeks and getting more interested in it each time! I hope they acquire it - if not, I suppose I'll have to buy it myself! Happy Reading!
