So checking in to 2015 and I'll count the recent week going back into the end of December. In November and December my walking dropped off a bit, other things took priority. However this week has seen me get back on track, I have walked every day and a little gardening here and there.
My weekly goal is 52 500 steps and I am getting back up there. I realise I am going to actually need to go out walking every day to reach that. Now I am no longer working I don't do a lot of steps as part of an ordinary day. I find it really motivating to see what steps others are doing through Fitbit and while I am not competing with them, seeing what they are doing pushes me out the door rather than sitting down!
I'll stick to this goal for the time being and see how I go, I am walking to help stay healthy and while losing a few kilos would not hurt, I think I will just throw out a few clothes that don't fit rather than angst about getting more hippy than I like!
I got a fitbit for Christmas, I love it! I need to get onto the treadmill more, I am training for a 10K in May

Everyone has a FitBit these days. I love that it's better than just an ordinary pedometer. I'm not coutning steps myself just how long I run and exercise videos I do as well as water intake. Good luck on your weekly goal this year (:
ReplyDeleteI've had my FitBit for a little over a year. I love it. Between it and BookBlogWalkers, now FitReaders, I find myself more motivated to get moving on a more regular basis. Good luck on your goals.
ReplyDeleteI so nee to remember to keep my fitbit with me, trust me I'd loose my head if it was not attached ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat goals Kathryn! I try to get 10k steps in 5 days a week and 5k steps in on the weekends. Now that I'm training to walk another 1/2 marathon in March, that schedule might change a bit depending on when I need to do the distance walks (or when I can fit them in!).
ReplyDeleteI got a Fitbit for Christmas and am still figuring it out. I go to the pool three times a week and take off the fitbit and then forget to put it back on!
ReplyDeletegood luck with your goals! I really need to get a fitbit!
ReplyDeleteGood luck Kathryn! Our new smartphones track our steps and the hubby and I are challenging ourselves to make more steps each day. No walking outside since it is -7 degrees..lol
ReplyDeleteI have a walk mapper on my phone, which is a lot of fun. Unfortunately it's too cold to get out an use it!
ReplyDeleteThe holidays and having to work overtime ruined my exercise routine but now I'm making sure I get some exercise. Good luck with your goals and it's good to see you in this challenge. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your fitness goals. I'm cheering you on! Walking is one of my favorite exercises since I can listen to audiobooks :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your goals! I got a Fitbit for Christmas but I'm finding it awkward to have it on my wrist all the time. I guess you get used to it.
ReplyDeleteYou and Diana Leigh @ Book of Secrets have motivated me to join this meme. I am going to work on my first post, and then hopefully get out of my chair and start exercising!
ReplyDeletePat that is so great. I just wouldn't do this without everyone in the reading world. I found it so helpful last year. It's the support of just knowing. Do you listen to audiobooks? It's a good time to set aside listening time as well!!
DeleteI don't listen to audio books because I find myself daydreaming - then loose my place. I am looking forward to participating in this challenge. Thanks.
