#FitReaders Weekly Check In

#FitReaders is hosted by The Geeky Blogger and That's What I'm Talking About.  It's such a great idea and the idea is growing out there more and more in the readers' blogging world.

This last week I had a very good week and walked every day since last check in.  I need to do that because now that I no longer 'go to work' I don't get many steps in unless I set time aside to go pound the pavement.  Somehow today I did something funny to my fitbit and it seemed to have lost some steps, but anyway I seem to be okay when I synced awhile ago.  Pretty much made my goal steps for the week.  I am listening to The Rosie Effect as I walk.

I also added in one day where I did some lawn mowing and gardening - all good exercise.  And Friday I even went for my first summer swim at the beach.  I should have ventured down before this but when there is a friend to go with that's added incentive. Now that I've had a taste I must get my little cheap bodyboard out and go ride in some waves - if I can find them.  There were none Friday, too calm.

By the way I am loving my new swimsuit. The best ever - so easy to get on and off and looks good, so no longer going to feel self conscious getting into the water!
Cover togs
I've been looking for a few years now for something like this and then an advertisement in a mag I rarely buy gave me the where to buy.  So happy!  I linked the pic to the website in case anyone else is like me and wants to cover up a little!  Sun wise its a good idea too.

  1. Very nice getting your steps in! I have Rose Effect on my TBR. I'm thinking that would be a good one to run to. I love your new swimsuit!

  2. I *loved* the narration for the first book - Rosie Project. He was wonderful! Probably the same guy doing Effect too?

Swimming at the beach sounds so fun. I'm glad you found the perfect swimsuit!!

  3. Glad you found a swimsuit! That is more than half the battle. I love going to the pool, which the Fitbit was waterproof so I get credit while doing what I love.

    1. I didn't realise the Fitbit is waterproof, although perhaps just the wrist one? Great to get credit for swimming.

  4. You did really good this week. Even though you aren't getting as many steps you are doing good by keeping active. I've been having some problems with my Fitbit too, it always says low battery even though I just changed it. I like those swimsuits! You can easily walk around without feeling self conscious. I hope you have fun at the beach and have a great weekend!

  7. Great job! Sounds like you had a nice variety of exercise and got to enjoy some beautiful weather too.

I liked The Rosie Effect. That would be a fun book to listen to on audio.

    1. Christina The Rosie Effect seems to be receiving mixed reviews, and listening to it on audio is definitely the way to go! I'm enjoying it. Oh yes, good weather counts!

  8. Fantastic week Kathryn ... go you!! And I love that swimsuit, I wear a 50+ rash shirt, very wary now because of mum's melanoma but you're getting great coverage with that and looking stylish :)
I love swimming, beach and pool and when we were on holidays with the fam last week I forgot I had my fitbit one on and took it for a swim in the ocean and pool ... I thought I'd killed it but it's working fine. I could have sworn I read that mine wasn't waterproof but I'll have to look it up before I risk it again lol

    1. Yes I wish these swimsuits were around a long time ago, but happy I have it now. Oh now wtith the Fitbit in the water. I had mine at the beach the other day because we went for a walk first but was careful to take it off before going in the water. Good that yours survived.

  9. I'm with you - a little cover up is nicer than all that bare skin. They look attractive to me!

  10. Summer swim? Are you from Australia or another country? - I'm curious.
Great job on walking everyday especially since you really had to motivate yourself to do so.
