After a fake food poisoning incident in L.A., Bailey Sterling's dreams of becoming a caterer to the stars collapse faster than a soufflé. Now Bailey's face is in all the gossip rags and her business is in ruins. But the Sterling women close ranks and bring her back to Icicle Falls, where she'll stay with her sister Cecily.
All goes well between the sisters until Bailey comes up with a new business idea—a tea shop on a charming street called Lavender Lane. She's going into partnership with Todd Black, who—it turns out—is the man Cecily's started dating. It looks to Cecily as if there's more than tea brewing in that cute little shop. And she's not pleased.
Wait! Isn't Cecily seeing Luke Goodman? He's a widower with an adorable little girl, and yes, Cecily does care about him. But Todd's the one who sends her zing-o-meter off the charts. So now what? Should you have to choose between your sister and the man you love (or think you love)?
The Tea Shop on Lavender Lane is #5 in the Icicle Falls series by Sheila Roberts. This book again focuses on the Sterling sisters - especially Cecily and Bailey. We met them back in Better in Chocolate, when Samantha was struggling to keep the family chocolate business afloat.
Now that Bailey has had a setback she is back in Icicle Falls, at a loss as to what to do, and feeling a little down on herself. Todd and herself come up with the idea of forming a partnership - a business one, and before you know it the Tea Shop is being born. It is right up Bailey's alley in catering and it ignites her passion. Passion for work that is - or could it be for Todd too. There is enough going on for Cecily to see 'red' and suddenly the sisters just aren't getting on.
Cecily has also been pursued by Luke Goodman for a number of years. He would be a great catch, but well... Cecily just isn't so in to him. She likes naughty boy Todd. Not that he is, he is a really nice guy, has a great business head and well... does care about his family.
So who will Cecily end up with? Read the book and find out. I wasn't that satisfied or convinced by the outcome, I would have liked to see more depthing of the relationship so as to find it more believable.
If you like chocolate, small town communities and a light romance then you will enjoy this book.
I love the covers on this series and I'm pretty sure I have the first two but I just never seem to find the time to actually start. Not sure why, pretty cover, tea shop setting, this should totally be calling my name lol
ReplyDeleteI love the covers too. Very enticing. I have all the books up to this one - however may not read the others, I have now read the first one and this one. Small town series books now have to have that extra x factor to draw me in.
