It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading?
Sheila at Book Journey runs It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Well do you ever have one of those weeks that by the time Friday comes around - life has gone rather downhill.  Well that happened to me this week, got really overtired and stressed out by a busy week. So have had a quiet weekend.  And because I needed a shopping binge I bought a Paperwhite Kindle with purple leather cover! Hasn't arrived yet, a little bit extravagant because my four year old Kindle still works okay except for one sticky forward button, but will use both, just not at the same time!

What I read during the week:
Love this series, great women's fiction.

Regency Romance 1st in Survivor Series.
Well written and enjoyable.

A short novella. YA
Interesting introduction to series.

What I am reading now:
Archangel's Shadow by Nalini Singh

Up next possibly:
I Saw Her Standing There by Marie Force

It's a bit like standing in front of a big wardrobe and saying "I have nothing to wear".  I stand in front of my huge TBR and go " Oh, I don't know....!"

  2. Unfortunately I'm feeling today, the way you felt on Friday - it could be a long week!
Hopefully a good reading week (with maybe some retail therapy!!) will cure both of us :-)

  3. Sometimes it's nice to splurge. :) Enjoy the new Paperwhite. Glad you had a good weekend, it was a rough week here too and weekends are good for recharging.

  5. I feel exactly the same about my TBR pile. It isn't that big, but nothing I have will be published for months, so I'll have to schedule the reviews in advance etc.... Ugh!

  7. I'm excited for your purchase! I hope you like the paper white and will be interested to hear how it compares to your old version. Mine is old too but I still love it for reading. I need to pick up The Proposal since I always enjoy Balogh. I hope this week is more restful for you.

    1. I saw that you had enjoyed it. I struggled at the beginning, not because of the book but me - so tired. But now feeling rested and the book is far better that way!

  9. I loved the Jane Porter series, too; in fact, I was hoping for some more books, since I would have enjoyed books featuring other family members...but that is because I just wanted to keep immersing myself in their lives.

Ah, yes, standing before the "closet" of books, wondering what to read next...that gets a little harder when most of them are on the e-reader. But I do have them in collections. And I have a handwritten list, just so I can more easily find what I bought and when. LOL

Thanks for visiting my blog, and enjoy your week!

  11. I really like my paperwhite Kindle. I had to upgrade a while ago since my son got a hold of my first kindle (grrr!)

  12. I've read two books by Jane Porter but not in this series, which I want to read.

I have had many different e-readers (original Kindle, Nook Color, Kindle Fire, basic Kindle, and now Paperwhite--and I pass on to family members the ones I wasn't thrilled with). For the pure pleasure of reading only and no other bells and whistles, the Kindle Paperwhite is my hands-down favorite! I totally recommend it. It's lightweight for my hands, no buttons to stick, it's easy to read in outside light or dark light in the house, and you can adjust the light and the font..you'll love it!

    1. Thanks Rita. I know there is another one after the paperwhite but they don't sell that to New Zealand. They always seem to keep one behind in the selling to us here. Never mind, have even heard some say they prefer the Paperwhite to the latest so, will be interesting to see. Can see how it would make your life easier.
