It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading?
Sheila at Book Journey runs It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Well this week we have had a taste of autumn here.  I have gone from wearing tank tops to long sleeved tees all in a week!

I went to a St Patrick's Day fair and won a $250 voucher for plants from a nursery for our coastal area - sand and more sand basically!!  However I am planted up, so passed it over to two of my nieces so they can plant up their coastal gardens.

This coming week I will participate in Bloggiesta, I always like to see what I can learn. It also might see me complete a few tasks I have had on my list for awhile.

What I read last week:

What I am reading at present:

I am still listening to The Martian by Andy Weir

Just started reading Insecure by Ainslie Paton

Up next:

The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George
I was lucky enough to receive a copy of this from the publisher, Hachette NZ when they called out for a few more reviewers.  My spiel line was: "It's on my to be read list." They were either desperate, or I was lucky. Anyway its a book that has been translated from the French, and will finish my translations challenge I'm doing! And who can resist a book with bookshop in the title!

Posts from the last week:

Angel Mine              Sherryl Woods
The Settling Earth    Rebecca Burns
Outback Blaze          Rachael Johns
Written in Red          Anne Bishop

  1. Did you enjoy the Robyn Carr book? That cover is calling my name!! I haven't read a Carr book in awhile.

Congrats on your winnings! Really sweet of you to give it to your nieces.

We are still having way too cold temps here, even though it's technically spring now. I am really ready for some warmer weather!

I hope you have a great week and some good reading!

    1. Brandie, yes I did enjoy. This is a re release. I wouldn't say its my top favourite of hers, I reread it though, and still enjoyed it. Her more recent Four Friends I enjoyed very much and I do like her Thunder Point series.

  2. It is kinda feeling like fall here too. Last Sunday it was 70 degrees and then the next day it was 40 - boo! I think we have a couple more cool weeks before we will finally have some spring

  6. Isn't it fun to win something, even if you can't use it? I have The Paris Bookshop on my TBR also. I hope I get some things done during Bloggiesta. I've been reading the mini challenges and getting excited and adding to my list in my head. Usually I'm a person who can focus on a task and do it to my best ability, but with I have so many ideas I'm afraid I'm going to do a bunch of half-assed things. I'll reassess my list tomorrow, I think.
While you're starting to get autumn, we had snow Sat morning and then by 5:00 it was the beginnings of spring and a beautiful Sunday. Still several feet of snow to melt though. We broke records here in Boston this winter.

    1. Yes, like you ideas have begun to run rampant, I need to dampen them down or like you will be likely to become addled!

  9. Nice win and nice for your niece's since you couldn't use it. It's always fun to win something :)
So ... how are you finding The Martian?? I really really want to read The Little Paris Bookshop, I put a request in but because of 'territory' rights it's unlikely I'll get it ... fingers crossed and I hope you love it! Looking forward to your reviews this week :)

    1. The Martian - is okay, lots of details that go over my head, but the basic story line is good and would certainly go see the movie if it goes ahead. I was so happy today because publicity person from Hachette contacted me today to see if I wanted to accept books for review from them now and then. You bet!
