It's Monday! What Are You Reading.

badge

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week.  It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog   and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, anything in the world of kidlit – join them!

So have you thought yet of the first book of the year that you are going to read? This week I made my choice - led of course by my heart and intuition on which was the right one. Actually it surprised me!

So if you'd like to join in head on over to Sheila at Book Journey to let her know. The badge below will take you off to Book Journey if you click on it.

My reading has slowed a bit for December. I have only had a couple of review books to read and mostly I have been reading my own. And not very fast. However review books are filling up for the first quarter of next year. To say nothing of my overflowing bookcase waiting to be read.

May you all enjoy your Christmas break with family and friends as I intend to do.

What I read last week:

What I am reading at present:

Still listening to:

Enjoying it - a little mystery, a little drama, a little romance - set in England - heroine in her sixties and narrated extremely well. Amanda Prowse is a new author to me but just seen one by her on NetGalley so I requested it.

This is one on my Kindle that I won earlier in the year from The Eclectic Reader, so as the year winds down and no review books staring me in the face - its time has arrived!

Up next:

It's You by Jane Porter.

Posts from the last week:

The Ones We Trust by Kimberley Belle
Fitreaders
And various challenges! Just about done now, except for one I want to look at when and if it happens.

  2. I like the look of A Little Love....an older heroine is always a plus for us "olders." LoL.

I've also bought my First Book of 2016....and can't wait to start reading it.

Enjoy your week and the holidays!

  3. I'm not sure what I'm reading first yet. My reading has slowed down in Dec too. Just trying to get thru the holidays and start fresh in January. :)

    1. I guess December gets us busy about many things and books are given less time, or could be a winding down so we can wind up for Jan!

  6. Merry Christmas! My reading has slowed down too. I only finished one book this past week. I hope to get through a few while I'm on vacation this week.

I am participating in the First Book of the Year and I need to pick my book. I have a few I'm considering at the moment but I'm not sure if I'll be in the mood for something serious or if I should look for something lighter.

  7. My reading has stalled ... I finished the one audio book but who knows if anything will get read this week, still quite a bit to do. No way am I missing First Book of 2016 but I need to make a decision what it's going to be ... this week!

Hope you enjoy Northern Heat, it's a fast paced read so it should kick you along lol and I'm looking forward to hearing more about A Little Love, sounds like my type of read.
If I'm not back visiting before Christmas hope yours is joyous, overflowing with love and laughter xo

  9. I didn't know about the challenge, what a good idea! I think I might go with Gunslinger by Stephen King because I've read the first three books in that series, and I've always meant to finish it. Also the whole quest thing feels appropriate for me going into 2016. Happy reading :)

  13. That's great you're reading your own books around the holidays! I'm mixing some backlist that I've been meaning to read forever with my Jan 2016 new releases. Kind of alternating between them...it's working so far!

  16. I haven't decided what book I will have as my first book of the year. It most likely be the one I am reading now unless I speed up my reading. :)

Northern Heat has a little bit of everything. :)

  17. Looks like you read some great books last week. My reading is a little slower this week too, but my kids are off school and I'm hoping to get my own books read too. I love joining in The First Book of the Year meme with Sheila and have participated in the last 3 years. What a great way to start the reading year!
