It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!
I made my goal of 55000 steps for the week by a couple of thousand. It has been so hot here, I need to get up early to beat the heat. I love the sun, but sometimes a little rain would be nice.
I had a quiet week, recovering from all the redecorating from the week before. Still waiting for the handles for the cupboards to arrive. Found the car keys on Tuesday - to both my horror and delight. I'd caught them up in newspaper and put it in the garage. Phew!
However now I don't want to drive my sister's car so only go for groceries. I do not want anything to happen to it! They'll be back next week with mine. They had a bad ride back to Rotorua in it - it's a bit slow you know. But guess what, my bro-in-law is a mechanic. Think it might be in better shape coming back! My sister just texted me to say my car was vacuumed and cleaned too and that The Book Thief was very sad. (Loaned it to her). I am not cleaning their car!!
At present there is a book giveaway on my blog. Do enter while you are here. Only take a short minute. One entry only for each person. New Zealand Book Giveaway Open internationally.
For those book bloggers who are into crafts as well would like to draw your attention to this newly started sporadic meme started by a group of book bloggers.

What I read last week:
I know six sounds a lot, but I was very close to finishing the Susan Lewis audiobook, and then I flew through Shonda Rhimes audio. Both audiobooks - great. All the others were satisfying reads as well. Reviews will follow, except for Promises in Death. And if you read J. D. Robb you know it's always a reliable read.
What I am reading at present:
Listening to:
Wanted to try this author so picked this one up of my wish list from Audible.

Wow, six books! Very impressive. I love the cover of the J.D. Robb book, and still haven't read beyond the first three...but I loved the ones I've read. Too many series books, not enough time!
ReplyDeleteI also want to read Driftwood Summer...I enjoy this author.
Year of Yes sounds good and so does Macombers new book!
ReplyDeleteGlad you found the keys! That kind of thing always seems to happen when you're busy and there's lots going on- keys can wind up some pretty crazy places. :) Look like lots of nice new reads- the cover of A Girl's Guide in particular looks nice.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful week Kathryn!
I really have to start listening to the audiobook I selected for the Book Riot Read Harder Challenge. Great to see you chanced upon so many great audiobooks. So great to see your book giveaway by the way. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you found the keys. We had Cole over this weekend and his new thing is throwing things away. We went through the garbage and had to fish a few things out! I enjoyed The Friends We Keep. Hope to get to Brotherhood in Death this week.
ReplyDeleteGlad you found the keys! That's nice of your family to clean and fix your car too :)
ReplyDeleteI read Driftwood Summer years ago and liked it. Hope you do too. The Debbie Macomber book looks good.
Whew! So glad you found the keys.... nice of them to clean your car :)
ReplyDeleteSix books is a lot - even if you were part way through one Kathryn!
ReplyDeleteGlad you found the keys... guess it's good they turned up at all.
And I know what you mean about the weather. It's been stinking hot here but we've finally had a bit of a cool change here in Qld. I think the west of the country is now copping our heat!
Year of Yes is a great book. I am amazed at all that Shonda Rhimes squeezes into a day.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
ReplyDeleteSix books is a great result for one week and all satisfying reads too!
ReplyDeleteThe weather has also been hot here in Victoria. Thankfully the forecast this week is for southerly winds which help keep the temperatures down. Enjoy your week!
I have the new Macomber on my wish list. Her books are good comfort reads, aren't they? Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI really want to read The Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes, which I think I actually own somewhere around here...
ReplyDeleteCongrats on all those steps!
Today I'm reading, The Good Lord Bird in physical format, Succubus on Top on my ereader, and We Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor on audio.

ReplyDeleteYou had a great week! Me too! Great job on the steps. Can't wait to read Year of Yes.
ReplyDeleteGlad you found the car keys! Hubby is always misplacing his keys, his wallet or his sunglasses, even though he has special spots for them, oh well.
ReplyDeleteI see you had a very good week with reading and walking, yay! I'm interested in the Year of Yes, since I'm a Shonda fan through her TV shows-- happy to have a female finally getting a whole night of shows back to back that she is in charge of. Also, my same lament... want to read Robb, not sure if it is feasible to find and read all those in her back list. Time will tell...
Good job in the reading department and the fitness department. I can't compete. Glad you found the car keys, that can be so frustrating. Have a great week, I am determined to finish one book!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you found the keys! It's interesting that Nora Roberts writes as J.D. Robb. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteYou had a great reading week! Reading different kinds of books and formats helps me to get more reading done too. :)
ReplyDeleteYear of Yes was a fun book, I'm sure it was great in audio also as she read.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I really want to read "The Year of Yes!"
ReplyDeleteA Girl's Guide to Moving On sounds super good. I'll have to check that out. And thanks for visiting me! :)
ReplyDeleteOh boy, good thing you didn't recycle that newspaper. Looking at your list I realized I need to read more Susan Mallery. My mum will be making a stop in New Zealand around American Thanksgiving during her trip to Australia. I plan to ask her to find me some NZ yarn.
ReplyDeleteYay on finding the car keys and that BIL is a mechanic! Getting something back in better condition than you left it is always a good thing. I'm curious about both the books you're reading. I haven't read any Debbie Macomber in far too long! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteYay! You found the car keys! I bet that was a relief!
ReplyDeleteI have been hearing a lot about Shonda Rhimes' book - it sounds very interesting. I listened to a couple of great interviews with her on book podcasts.
Enjoy your books this week - and getting your own car back!
