It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

badge

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week.  It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog   and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, anything in the world of kidlit – join them!

Welcome in again. The week sure goes fast. I don't usually leave writing this post until Monday but I have this week!

I am doing the A-Z April blogging challenge on my blog Discovering Daisies, not sure if bitten off more than I can chew! I am still quilting - fallen a little behind in the splendid sampler but want to get going. Problem is much of it is new - paper piecing block out today! Then I am doing this applique quilt for a great-nephew, and no I don't know much about applique, but I'm learning. Craftsy is my source!

I am getting back into walking, but down-sized my goals a bit! My household small renovations have come to a halt - I mean how hard is it to go out and buy a clock. (But I want one that is a bit different!). Speaking of clocks, we went an hour back for Autumn this weekend, Sunday seemed to last a long time!

I have started listening to a few podcasts, I am looking for ones about quilting and books. Found a few. I like to listen before I sleep as it might even put me to sleep with luck!

What I read last week:

book cover What We Find Under Italian Skies book cover
Enjoyed them both. Nicky Pellegrino is English with an Italian father, but she lives and works in New Zealand - so counting her as a NZ author.

What I am reading at present:

Reading on my Kindle for review:
Lies and Other Acts of Love book cover
Listening on my iPod - book chosen from Audible. Hooked on this series!
Marked in Flesh book cover

Up next:

For review: It's characters are retired I think. Looking forward to it!
the Vintage Springtime Club
No intro needed! For review.
The Obsession book cover

Posts from the last week:

Silent Sentry. Theresa Rizzo

Offensive Behavior   Ainslie Paton

March month in review.

  2. The Robyn Carr book sounds good to me.

Good luck with your quilting, blogging and step goals.

I am not a fan of time changes. I still don't think I've completely adjusted to last month's.

    Have a great week!

  3. I hope you find those quilting podcasts you're looking for. I am curious about the A-Z challenge. I'll have to take a look.
I'm reading What We Find now; glad you enjoyed it.
I might try that Bishop series.
    Happy Reading!

  4. What We Find and The Obsession are on my must-read list. Enjoy your week, and thanks for sharing...and leading this event.

I hate time changes. Ours sprang forward a few weeks ago. So annoying.

  5. I am trying out Robyn Carr right now. Have fun looking for a unique clock. That seems like it's an interesting search.

  6. I'm not a big fan of the time changes either, they irritate me lol. I've been getting into more podcasts lately and they are kinda fun, when I can make time for them. I have to sort of listen attentively because if I try to listen while doing something else, I tend to lose track ha ha.

  7. I'm doing the A to Z challenge too. Sort of. I'm blogging every day so calling on a few different prompts. I couldn't be bothered officially signing up to that challenge as it was huge and I knew I'd just feel lost so am doing my own thing.

I've got The Obsession too but not sure it's on this week's list!

  10. I just finished Lies and Other Acts of Love and The Obsession as well. I liked one and loved the other, so I hope you enjoy them. I keep hearing great things about the Anne Bishop series so I need to add that to my TBR. Good luck with your challenges and redecorating. Have a great week! My Weekly Wrap-Up

  11. Have you looked in any antique stores for clocks? If it is something unique you have in mind, you may find something in a store like that. All the best to you with your challenges.

  12. I want one of those big clocks now that you put on the wall, but then when I grow bored...it IS hard

  13. These all look fantastic! Good luck finding a new clock. (And P.S. the time change was NO fun!)

  14. All of your books look great. The Obsession is on my wishlist. Have a great week!

  15. Good luck finding a clock! I get decorative ideas in my head but never have any luck finding what I want. Pinterest gives me unrealistic expectations of how I can decorate my house. Lol! I hope you enjoyed the new Carr book. I'm super jealous you have the new Roberts book - I'm SO excited to read that one! And I really want to read the Harvey book soon. So many good ones - enjoy!!

  16. You are so very lucky to receive Nora Roberts' novels for review - I remember really loving them when I was a university undergraduate student. :)

  17. I hope you find the perfect clock soon!

I'm reading the ARC of The Fireman by Joe Hill on my Kindle, listening to Fracture by Megan Miranda on my Audible app, and reading the physical copy of Talking to Girls About Duran Duran by Rob Sheffield.

  18. I know exactly what you mean about finding the perfect clock! We did a little renovation project here over a year ago and I'm still looking for one to go in the kitchen... the ugly, very functional one is still there, but I want one with a little style! Your quilting and blogging projects sound very ambitious, too. Have a good week!

  19. They all look so good....love the looks of Under Italian Skies.

I hope you find the perfect clock.

Turning back an hour does make the day longer, but it is nice.

    Have a wonderful reading week.

  23. The A-Z Challenge looks time consuming, but fun. You're doing a great job with your quilt (I checked out your other blog too) and you should be proud of yourself :)

I'll look for The Obsession, the Bishop series (everyone's reading this one-- has anyone ever read her earlier series?) and What We Find, happy to start on the first book with this series.
Thanks for sharing, Kathryn, and have a great week!

    1. Thank you Rita I am getting a lot of fun out of learning to quilt and do things I have never done before. I don't know what else Anne Bishop has written I only got to hear of her through this series.

  25. Sounds like you had a good week - overall and book-wise!

I enjoy book podcasts, too (though it is challenging to juggle them with my audiobooks). Here are some of my favorites:

  26. You have some wonderful books here. I loved Lies and the Nora Roberts book looks enticing. I haven't read one of her's in quite awhile. Happy reading!

  27. I feel your pain about the clock. Shopping for house stuff is so challenging because I want something that is different and then their are budget concerns and all of that! Good luck! I'm looking forward to your review of the Nora Roberts book. I hope you love it when you get to it!

  28. I'm reading the Nora Roberts book next week. Sounds promising! I'm also looking forward to Robyn Carr's latest. Love her! ♥
