It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

badge

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week.  It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog   and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, anything in the world of kidlit – join them!

Greetings to everyone. Well there has been very much a taste of Autumn here for us. I have lit my fire three times now in the evening and my tank tops I think are put away till next summer!

I got quite a bit of reading done in the last week, and now I am busy catching up to go back to my quilting class for Tuesday, hopefully three blocks completed will be enough to satisfy the tutors! I sort of got carried away on other endeavours. This is the kind of quilt we are making in the class, although mine is purple and green in the paw blocks - they are what I am working on at present. It's so cute, not sure which great niece/nephew it will be for, one of them anyway! I guess I am a bit old for a teddy bear quilt!

  3. It is spring here and I hope I can finally put my sweaters away.

I have the Taylor Jenkins Reid book on my TBR pile and hope to read it soon. Sounds like an emotional roller coaster kind of book!

Hope your quilting goes well and you have a great week :)

and so are so many of these covers - always love enjoying cover art.
Glad for your good week , I am ready to slow down a wee bit - into personal choices rather than all the arcs completed for this month's challenge. Lightening up for approach of summer :)

    Have a great week, Kathryn!

  6. Yay for lots of reading! I enjoyed the Taylor Jenkins Reid book I read, so I hope One True Loves is good as well. And we're finally starting to warm up- May has been alternately nice and very rainy, but this weekend was beautiful. Have a fantastic week!

  7. Was One True Loves from NetGalley Kathryn? I loved / hated Reid's first book so have been wondering about this one as well.

Our temps are still in the high 20s during the day! Grrrrr....

    1. Deb it was from Edelweiss and I haven't fallen in love with it so much as some of my other fav bloggers have. Could be my age!

  8. The most important question now is...how "cold" is it?

  9. I've still to get to a Joslyn Jackson book. Never could track one down.
We having torrential rains, floods and all the accompanying mess.

  10. Love that quilt design! It's been very wintry here for the past few days, but I don't mind that. :)

  11. Great reading week. All of your books look good.

Have fun at your quilting class. Beautiful quilt.

Stay warm, and enjoy your reading week. I has been cold and rainy here. Feels like autumn instead of spring.

  14. Pffft - you are never to old for teddy bears! ;) It is adorable. I just added Dear Thing to my wish list after reading your great review. I was fortunate to meet Josilyn Jackson at a book festival a couple of years ago. She is such a wonderful person. Happy reading and quilting this week, Kathryn!

  15. Oh great past and future line ups Kathryn. You know I love Sarah Morgan and am in fact just about to open the pages of her upcoming September release Sunset in Central Park to review for RT book reviews. First I'm reading an upcoming release by Shannon Kirk and I'm really excited! Happy Monday!

  16. Looks like some great titles both read and to read. I am interested in The Opposite of Everything, so will look forward to your thoughts. Love the look of the the teddy bears and bear paw blocks. I am looking forward to seeing your version. I bought fabric for another quilt when we were traveling last week. I haven't purchased fabric except for an unexpected baby quilt in well over 2 almost 3 years. I just been using up my "stash".

  17. Love the quilt...I made one with just the paws...not the Bears...so that I could keep it for me! You did have a great week of reading!

  18. I loved The Opposite of Everyone! I know you must be loving that audiobook. Joshilyn Jackson is a fantastic author narrator. I love how you share your crafty side, too. :)

  22. Adorable quilt, I admire you for making it! I know I wouldn't be able to!

One True Loves is fantastic, I really hope you enjoy it. I loved Christmas Ever After, too!! My favorite holiday book last year.

I love autumn, I only wish it lasted longer than it does. We have still been using our fireplace some evenings because the temps drop. Hopefully not much longer, though.

  23. What a lovely quilt pattern; I'm sure which ever family receives it will be very happy indeed. I imagine listening to an audiobook is a great way to pass the time when quilting, or is a little too much concentration required for both those activities? I'm terrible at multitasking myself!

I hope you have a wonderful week, bookish and otherwise.

  26. I've read a few Rachel Gibson books...they're always good! What a fun quilt!

  27. That's a cute quilt pattern and what fine work it will be. I guess the bear is like applique and the raw edges need to be zig zag stitched?

    1. That's correct Stefanie. I am blanket stitching the edges, done one, it is adorable! I am also going to lengthen the quilt and add one more row to the quilt to make it more of a single bed quilt.
