It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!
Well last day of July. So fast. We've had a bit of cold weather - an extra blanket needed and bed socks might have been called for as well! New Zealand houses often don't have central heating and mine certainly doesn't. But not complaining, I like cold weather.
I had a good reading week so hope you did too. My July month in review of reading will post tomorrow. We seem to have a lot of Mondays that end on the end of the month this year!
Last week Stefanie was asking when I publish this post so here are the times for comparison!!
New Zealand - 3pm Monday which is....
Monday but earlier by 2-3 hours in Australia depending on which coast you are on.
Sunday 11pm Eastern in USA, 8pm on West Coast and 10pm in Chicago
I am guessing in Britain etc it would be very early Monday morning 3 - 4 am.
South Africa - haven't looked that one up. Anywhere else people come in from?
Lithuania about 6am. Thanks Evelina.
It is generally on Tuesday morning as I sit eating breakfast that I catch up with everyones posts as I am in bed while you are enjoying your first taste of Monday!
What I read last week:
I also finished listening to...
What I am reading at present:
A review book from Hachette Australia

Hard to believe it is July 31st already. I thought with two babies expected it would drag by, but it didn't.
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to read Seeing Red. I am sorry that summer is almost over, even though I won't miss the super hot days.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week! Thanks for giving us the time comparisons.
Oh it's almost July. Can you believe it. I think this month flies so fast as well. Glad to hear you had a great week, reading wise. I did have too. I hope you enjoy the books you're currently reading/listening. Have a wonderful week. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for that 411. As a former educator, I like to do things right and in this case, link up properly, LOL. The Fairvale Ladies book looks good. I can't wait to read your review for that. Have a lovely lie in catching up on posts. My post is scheduled for PST 6:30 a.m.
ReplyDeleteI can understand why, Kathryn, you found Magic Bites, too gory. Funny how I was fine reading it but get annoyed when I hear from the office all this gun shooting and screaming from a movie my husband's watching, LOL.
DeleteYes, and good point about the Bridgerton series and its off shoot.
DeleteThat's kind of interesting to see roughly what time it is for everyone! Even though I knew already about the differences, obviously, but to see it laid out like that and to compare... pretty neat. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to believe we're going into August already! It's been warm here although we went to a festival saturday night, and it was by the water and it was chilly down there! We all had to put on sweatshirts and blankets!
Hi! I've decided to join this time too! <3 it's 6 am here and I just got up, and I suppose that's when the post roughly goes out in Lithuania :) nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteCooler weather can be cozy time. :-) Ah- I just got my Sunday/Monday post up (9:30pmCT) and you've reminded me I need to put together the July wrap up. Thanks - I think.
ReplyDeleteHope this is a good week for you. Happy Reading!
I had to chuckle a bit when you said it has been cold in New Zealand. It is the middle of summer here and we're just entering a heat wave...I would LOVE to have some of your chilly weather right now!
ReplyDeleteI'm in California and your posts usually show up for me between eight and nine pm on Sunday. It's nearly eleven at night now while I'm posting.
ReplyDeleteYay for a good week! I'm pretty amazed it's nearly August, too. And I'd been wondering about posting schedule. I'm on the East Coast in the US :) Going on 430am here. Eek!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the time zone update...it is fun to think what everyone is doing at the time I wake up. :)
ReplyDeleteLove Sandra Brown's books.
Looks like a good week for you. ENJOY this week.
Interesting about noticing a lot of months have been ending on a Monday...love the observation.
Looking forward to your month-in-review post, Kathryn. Have a good Tuesday. :)
Elizabeth
Thanks for sharing the times. I was also wondering. Looks like you have a great lineup. Have a great week Kathryn.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering about the time zones too. It isn't that much of a difference here in India- but I was quite shocked to see that you had your posts up before I was awake!
ReplyDeleteIt's been hot, hot, hot here, but I could feel a chill in the air this morning. I don't know where it came from, but I loved it. :)
ReplyDeleteI often deal with clients around the world and have become familiar with time zones. Thank you for listing them here. The Fairvale Ladies Book Club looks good. Have a great reading week!
ReplyDeleteUgh! You are posting your July summary, and I still haven't finished my reviews for JUNE! I've been way behind this summer - just too busy with sons home travel, family, etc. I hope to catch up a bit this month, though it will be another busy one!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your books this week -
Sue
2017 Big Book Summer Challenge
I've read the first couple in the Fatal series and enjoyed them. I really need to catch up. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe July is already almost over! Where in the world has the time gone? Last I checked, my summer break was just beginning! And now it's almost over. As oppressive as the heat has gotten here, I just can't imagine the cold of winter with no central heat. I'm always cold, so I'd freeze! I'm not a fan of the cold though.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
It's hard to believe July is over already. It feels like it just started. I have The Bookshop on Water's End on my list to read. It looks so good. Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteJuly just flew by! I can't imagine not having central heat, but I live in a totally different climate than you! Right now, we are enjoying a hot summer. Have a great week! That Sandra Brown book sounds good.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great week Kathryn. I'm reading a fabulous historic literary novel set in Medieval Wales 6th Century. Between Two Fires
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see the time difference laid out like that though it does make my head hurt a little to figure it all out! I've wondered just how different time-wise everything really is. No central heating? I think I could handle that better than no A/C but I'd be seriously grumpy all winter! Great books this week. You can never go wrong with an Emilie Richards book though that's not one I've read yet. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHow cold is cold?
ReplyDeleteI suppose that's when the post roughly goes out in Lithuania :) nice to meet you!
