It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!
Hope you all had a great week. I did - read, quilted, walked and had family time. Oh and a very nice win!
My Dad turns 94 this week and so we pre-celebrated on Saturday as family were down from up North. An adorable 3 month little one who so suits her Maori name Awhi, (pronounced approx - Ahfee) so of course I had my share of smiles and holds!
I am taking part in the Audiobook challenge hosted at Hot Listens and Caffeinated Book Reviewer as I usually do and to my surprise I found I was the winner of 4 audiobooks for the mid- year link up! I was delighted, who wouldn't be. What an amazing prize. So I have now listened to Anne of the Island and am on to my second Until it Fades. Thanks to the two hosts. Big smiles.
What I read last week:
I finished listening to the last hour of this audiobook. No review pending but I did enjoy it - all about complex family relationships. As the cover indicates a good beach or in my case fire read.
I also listened to Anne of the Island for my Anne book for July and I do have a short review pending.
I read these two review books and reviews will post near publication dates.
What I am reading at present:
Listening to ...
And from the library on CD's - which can keep me company until I finish quilting a quilt for my sister. I had forgotten I had requested this book at the library and almost bought it. Lucky save that they let me know it was ready to pick up.
And just started reading

Wow! Your dad has such an incredibly long life span! Or is that normal for the US? Most people in my family live up to mid 80s max. Happy Birthday to him and I wish him well for the years to come!
ReplyDeleteNobonita @ The Bengali Nomad
I think Anne of the Island is probably my favorite. I really would love to reread it and Rilla of Ingleside. Happy birthday to you dad! Sounds like a fantastic celebration! I'm curious about The Dress in the Window. I love the title but haven't seen much about the book itself. I'm also looking forward to seeing your thoughts on Brenda Novak's book. I've had mixed results with her books and have been hesitant to try her again but if you enjoy it I probably will too. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your dad! And I love that name. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI really need to read the Anne of Green Gables series. I never read it!
Aw that sounds lovely! I'm so glad to hear you had a nice week. Happy reading this week!
