It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!
Welcome in everyone and looking forward to seeing what everyone is reading or going to read.
I had a quiet week, a mixture of things to be done and enjoyed. Our Spring weather is very windy but still the sun is out so not complaining. Oddly enough though would like some rain because the garden is dry already.
I've been catching up the second series of Victoria, just one more to go and then I'll watch something else through. I was quite surprised that she showed concern for the Irish during the potato famine, hope that is historically true. So many of the English were so hard hearted about it.
What I read last week:
The Gilded Hour was over 700 pages - I enjoyed it but because not all the story line was wrapped up until the next 700 page clunker I am sure, I was a bit annoyed. Set in nineteenth century in Boston it followed the story of two women doctors who are both cousins.
I finished listening to...
What I am reading at present:
For review ... I have just started this new Loretta Chase book, she can usually be relied on for a good fun historical romance.
I couldn't pick anything out of my wish list at Audible, I have a few hundred possibles there, but everything felt no ... not just now. Eventually I settled for this cozy mystery. I am one third through and still a bit mystified as to what is the mystery. Its just okay!
Up next:
For review, thanks to Hachette Australia. Looking forward to this next one in the series.
Quiet weeks are nice! I just got A Duke In Shinning Armor on audio too. Looking forward to Eve and Roark!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good week! Hope you get some rain soon to relieve the garden. :)
ReplyDeleteVictoria sounds like a fascinating show.
Edge of darkness looks interesting! Have a nice week Kathryn!!
Edge Of Darkness looks great. I hope you’ll enjoy it. Happy reading Andy have a wonderful week, my friend. ❤️
ReplyDelete*Sigh* I'm jealous of your spring weather. I'm not crazy about winter. Enjoy your reading week.
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to read Karen Rose. The series looks tempting. Enjoy your week...and the spring weather.
ReplyDeleteI am curious about the Victoria series. Thanks for sharing...and for hosting.
I'm actually doing an audio re-read of "A Change of Heart" right now...not that I've had much of a chance to listen to it lately! Ha!
ReplyDeleteI like your selection of reads. The Donati one specially.
ReplyDeleteThe Edge of Darkness looks really good. I've been wanting to read Karen Rose's books. I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDelete700 pages - whew! I have such a hard time sticking with really lengthy books, these days; it's got to be something that really holds my attention. I'm so glad that you're enjoying the sunshine, but I'll hope for a little rain for your garden, Kathryn! Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteFunny to think of you having spring when it is so cold here. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's funny isn't it about the weather - it's rarely perfect. Victoria is on my list of shows to watch. I've heard it's good but have no idea as to the accuracy.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great list Kathryn. I'm just finishing up my for pleasure week and getting ready to start reading my February reviews. Ah the fun never stops :)
ReplyDeleteI think I would enjoy the Victoria series. I hope you continue to enjoy the spring.
ReplyDeleteWe are moving into chilly fall as you move into Spring. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the cover on FALLING TO PIECES.
Have a wonderful week, Kathryn.
Sunshine is always nice. Here, the snow has started. It looks pretty, but it always is a shock when the temps drop. I have pics on my Sunday Post if you want to see. I know you enjoy the snow pics :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week! The Karen Rose series sounds good.
I love quiet weeks...weeks with minimal stuff to do...as always your books look interesting.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are having some nice weather - so weird to hear you talking of spring - it was in the 20's here this weekend!
ReplyDeleteLots of variety in your reading - hope you enjoy your books this week!

Book By Book
I need to try more Chase
ReplyDeleteWhat a great array of books you got through this week.
ReplyDeleteI have the first season of Victoria recorded and really need to watch it. What I've seen is wonderful. That's interesting that she was concerned about the potato famine. My family left Ireland towards the end of the famine so I always kind of take it personally! Hope your week has been fantastic!
