It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

badge

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week.  It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog   and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, anything in the world of kidlit – join them!

Hope all in the USA had a great Thanksgiving and can now relax and do some reading before Christmas arrives.

I've done some reading, some tinkering in the garden and some looking to the sky for possible rain! I don't want the birds to peck my tomatoes this year so I did some online research! Ahem! One place said make sure there is water in the garden for the birds and they don't like shiny things. So I am filling the bird bath every day and have hung a couple of cd's I no longer use. We shall see.

I have upped the number of podcasts I listen to and one is the West Wing - so I decided to go right back to the beginning of the series and re watch.  Hearing the two guys discuss each episode makes me see more!  One of them is the actor Josh Malina who came in to replace Rob Lowe when he moved out in Season 4 or so.

What I read last week:

Read one review book of short stories.

And read one off my bookshelf.

And one from the library for a reading challenge this food memoir.

And I just finished from my TBR

What I am reading at present:

About to begin reading this review book

  1. We string CDs across our pool to keep the ducks out in the early spring. They work! Loved West Wing. Hope you have a great week.

I hope you enjoy this week and have a wonderful reading week. Your new books look great. I’m curious about The One In a Million Boy. 😁

  8. Oh, I can't wait to read A Distant Heart! I have it on pre-order, so I just have to wait for the pub date. I really enjoyed Sonali Dev's books in the past!

  9. I still haven't picked up listening to podcasts. I'm either listening to music or audiobooks. http://pussreboots.com/blog/2017/comments_11/what_are_you_reading_1127.html

  12. I'll be interested to know how the CDs work with the birds (though with a cat, it's not a problem we have so much as slugs!)

  13. Ooh the shiny things is kind of a neat idea! I hope it works. And also that you get some rain soon!

I did very little reading last week but hey it's a new week, right? Maybe this one will be better. Hope your week ahead is a good one. :)

  21. Whoa! You read all those books in a week?!!! I guess I'm either a slow reader or don't devote as much time to reading as I do to family history and quilting. I love One-In-A-Million Boy. I hope you like it, too. Right now I'm reading American Grit: A Woman's Letters from the Ohio Frontier. I don't know why some books read more slowly than others but this is definitely a slow one. I hope you get to eat your tomatoes instead of the critters eating them!

  22. One In A Million Boy was wonderful! I think you will really like it!

  23. I just noticed you will be reading SISTERS LIKE US. I am almost done with the book, and I am enjoying it.

I have never read a book by Susan Mallery.

    ENJOY your week, Kathryn.

  24. I still struggle getting my head around the fact that your seasons are opposite from mine. I mean I know that's the case but it still surprised me to see you mention tinkering in your garden! I'm looking forward to seeing your thoughts on Dinner With Edward. I enjoyed it and found it to be a quiet read. One in a Million Boy looks fantastic and I've heard so many raves about it so I'm looking forward to seeing your thoughts on it. Have a great week!

  25. I loved One in a Million Boy myself. I wonder if the audiobook is good...I'd like for my husband to listen as well (I know he won't read it, ha).

  26. You had a good week. Yay for that! I hope those shiny CD's do the trick for your tomatoes.

    1. Thanks for dropping by recently. I think I got a lot of reading done because I was burned out from making cards and my knitting was frustrating me over and over again. Plus I've been reading in the car. I've built up a small stack of books to read now. I'm excited.
