It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

badge

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week.  It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog   and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, anything in the world of kidlit – join them!

Welcome in everyone. This time next week - Christmas Day. I will put up a It's Monday post but I wouldn't be surprised if many of you will be otherwise engaged! I no doubt will pre prepare my post and schedule it.

The reign of good weather continues here and no rain yet again although they promised us some we got only a few drops for about 5 minutes!  I went for my first of the summer swim at the beach yesterday. The water was so warm, even out at waist deep it was toasty.  Last summer I never went for one swim, so getting off to a good start for this summer!

What I read last week:

I enjoyed all my reading this week. I finished this fantasy and kinda hoping there might be some more in the future.

I survived reading In A Dark Dark Wood and actually was not freaked out at all as I expected! Made of more sturdier stuff than I thought!  Page turner for sure!

I finished listening to...
A Cold Creek Christmas which was a light enjoyable Christmas listen.

Last week I forgot to mention that I read this Jill Shalvis book that I very much enjoyed - I thought it was a stand alone which it is, but also the beginning of a series.

  10. You had a good week! I bought the Shalvis book when it was published but now must make time to read it - the book lover's universal problem, right?

  14. I've been a little slow on my reading the last few months. Upsetting since I'm close to my reading goal.

Anyway, I'm going to have to check out that Susan Wiggs book. I love her books. I have The Rejected Writer's Bookclub on my TBR list. Can't wait to see how you feel about it.

    1. Nicole I liked this one very much because it was more into the women's fiction genre. I have read a lot of her romance books, my fav would be her Animal Magnetism series.

  19. Looks like a great week planned!
I'm trying to make Christmas Magic happen here and reading my contract reviews for March :)

  20. A swim sounds like heaven. It's cold and dreary here. I'm glad you enjoyed In a Dark Dark Wood. I didn't think it'd mess with you too much but different people are bothered by different things so you never know. If you decide to read more from her I highly recommend the audio. Imogen Church is the narrator and she's magic. I've got the Susan Mallery coming up on my list and can't wait. I love her writing though her series doesn't always work for me. Hope you're having a fantastic week!

  21. I love the setting of in A Dark Dark Wood but don't remember being overly freaked out either. I'm sure it would be a different story if I was actually stuck in that setting though! :D
Very jealous of your summer swim! I can't wait to swim outside again.
