It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!
Welcome in everyone. This time next week - Christmas Day. I will put up a It's Monday post but I wouldn't be surprised if many of you will be otherwise engaged! I no doubt will pre prepare my post and schedule it.
The reign of good weather continues here and no rain yet again although they promised us some we got only a few drops for about 5 minutes! I went for my first of the summer swim at the beach yesterday. The water was so warm, even out at waist deep it was toasty. Last summer I never went for one swim, so getting off to a good start for this summer!
What I read last week:
I enjoyed all my reading this week. I finished this fantasy and kinda hoping there might be some more in the future.
I survived reading In A Dark Dark Wood and actually was not freaked out at all as I expected! Made of more sturdier stuff than I thought! Page turner for sure!
I finished listening to...
A Cold Creek Christmas which was a light enjoyable Christmas listen.
Last week I forgot to mention that I read this Jill Shalvis book that I very much enjoyed - I thought it was a stand alone which it is, but also the beginning of a series.
I hope you’re enjoying the book you’re currently reading and listening. The look great. Have a wonderful week. ❤️😁
ReplyDeleteWhat good reads you have read this week. I may try to prep a post tonight, otherwise tomorrow I'll have to work on it.
ReplyDeleteI loved In a Dark Dark Wood...and I have Lost and Found Sisters on my shelves. Time to read it!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week!
Crazy to think it's almost Christmas. Yay for Jill Shalvis. I just saw today it was going to be a series. Exciting. I still need to give book one a read :)
ReplyDeleteYay for swimming, I love it when the water is so warm. Nice! And I love that cover of the Rejected Writers' Book Club.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas in a week!! :)
Swimming sounds crazy for us in cold but I am glad for you. :-) You had nice variety of reading going on. I like the Rejected Writer's cover too and will hop over to Audible to take a look. Hope this is a lovely week for you with Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteHooray for your first swim of the summer, Kathryn; what a treat! I'm also glad you enjoyed In a Dark, Dark Wood; that is my favorite of her novels. Your new audio selection looks like fun; I'll be curious to hear what you think. Hope you have a great week and thank you for hosting!
ReplyDeleteI will be around on Christmas Day...my son has to leave at noon.
ReplyDeleteI think you will enjoy SISTERS LIKE US.
Love the cover and the title of THE REJECTED WRITERS' BOOK CLUB.
Have a wonderful week, Kathryn.
I love your list of books. Many of those are on my wishlist. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteYou had a good week! I bought the Shalvis book when it was published but now must make time to read it - the book lover's universal problem, right?
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to read In a Dark, Dark Wood for a long time. Glad you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteYay! So glad that you enjoyed In a Dark, Dark Wood. That's one of my favourite reads of 2017. I can't wait to read Heart on Fire. The cover of that Christmas audiobook looks so pretty! Enjoy your lovely weather!!
ReplyDeleteAwwww a swim! I did not go for one this summer :/
ReplyDeleteI've been a little slow on my reading the last few months. Upsetting since I'm close to my reading goal.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'm going to have to check out that Susan Wiggs book. I love her books. I have The Rejected Writer's Bookclub on my TBR list. Can't wait to see how you feel about it.
Swimming sounds so lovely...we are swimming in snow and it is supposed to snow on Christmas Day! Your books are lovely!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed In a Dark Dark Wood - so did I. And a swim in the ocean - warm no less! - sounds wonderful!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your books this week and have a wonderful Christmas with your family.

Book By Book
In A Dark Dark Wood grabbed my attention, I'll have to check it out. I am also intrigued by The Rejected Writers' Book Club. I hope you are enjoying it. Happy reading and Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteA good friend introduced me to Jill Shalvis, and I look forward to reading her newest. Have you read anything else by her that you might recommend?
ReplyDeleteNicole I liked this one very much because it was more into the women's fiction genre. I have read a lot of her romance books, my fav would be her Animal Magnetism series.
DeleteLooks like a great week planned!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to make Christmas Magic happen here and reading my contract reviews for March :)
A swim sounds like heaven. It's cold and dreary here. I'm glad you enjoyed In a Dark Dark Wood. I didn't think it'd mess with you too much but different people are bothered by different things so you never know. If you decide to read more from her I highly recommend the audio. Imogen Church is the narrator and she's magic. I've got the Susan Mallery coming up on my list and can't wait. I love her writing though her series doesn't always work for me. Hope you're having a fantastic week!
ReplyDeleteI love the setting of in A Dark Dark Wood but don't remember being overly freaked out either. I'm sure it would be a different story if I was actually stuck in that setting though! :D
ReplyDeleteVery jealous of your summer swim! I can't wait to swim outside again.
