I'ts Monday! What Are You Reading? New Year Edition

badge

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week.  It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog   and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, anything in the world of kidlit – join them!

Happy New Year everyone. Hope yours is good. Mine has dawned bright, sunny and still which is great as the last week has been hugely windy and a small amount of rain.

May 2018 bring you lots of great books, lots of joy and when the going is tough (because let's face it there are usually tough somethings) may you have the courage and strength and support you need.

What I read last week:

This is the second book in her Loved Walked In series. She has a third one coming out in 2018. At first I was unhappy because there were quite a few new characters, then I adjusted and totally enjoyed the book!

I am not a big cozy reader but I enjoyed this one set in a library and will happily eventually read through the series.

I had a bit of spare time counting down 2017 reading so I bought this one and enjoyed it. Georgian setting and beginning of a new series. Looking forward to the next one coming out - there is a big family!!

I finished this audiobook, it was about a group of women who loved getting rejection letters for their books until the terrible day when one got an acceptance letter which leads them on a fun road journey.

What I am reading at present:

I also started listening to this YA audiobook and am loving it. I know, I know thousands before me loved it but I am slow.

Up next:

A review book - my first historical romance by Beverly Jenkins so I am looking forward to it.

  8. Happy New Year! It's about 20 degrees this morning in VA. Our dog does not like it this cold. Luckily it's dry outside. I enjoyed your video. I've added The Promise Between Us to my list.

  9. Happy New Year, Kathryn! I'm glad to hear your year has started off with a good day; it is quite chilly here, and windy, but the sun is out and I'm looking forward to an extra day off from work! The Rejected Writers audio book you've listened to sounds really cute; that would be a great choice for an easy, fun listen. Thanks so much for hosting and I hope you have a great week!

  14. I like Melissa de los Santos...and she is a local author here! She and her author husband live here in our small state and often make appearances at our tiny used bookstore in town :) Glad you enjoyed her novel.

Your weather sounds soooo wonderful! It's been frigid here for over a week now - high temps in the teens and 20's (F!) with wind chills below zero - brrr! Enjoy your summer!

    Happy New Year!

Props to you on learning HTML to create those boxes. I'll try to poke around and see if I can find something on that. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thank you, Kathryn. I hope I will enjoy Miss Marple's first foot out into the murder world. Katherine of I Wish I Lived in a Library told me to not get discouraged as Miss Marple may take some getting used to.
