It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

badge

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week.  It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog   and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, anything in the world of kidlit – join them!

Well we have joined all those other people who have had daylight savings changeover.  I am a fan of it but it usually brings a few days of a little disorientation.   While many of you are receiving hints of Spring we are getting them for Autumn. A little chilly this morning as I write but the sun is already shining.

Hope you all had a great Easter break. Sunday afternoon I went for a walk along our local beach and it was great to see all the people, old and young out enjoying the sunshine, water etc.

What I read last week:

A review book that I loved.

And from the library - which is moving my library challenge along!  Both okay reads.

What I am reading at present:

Just starting to read this one, I think the cover may tell you why I chose this book from NetGalley!

And still listening to my audiobook Endless Beach by Jenny Colgan, I haven't made that much progress in it. I am enjoying it but seem to be listening to podcasts, and have been going back over Oprah's SuperSoul backlist of podcasts.

  2. I hope the quilting book lives up to your expectations. Enjoy the beach while you still can. I can't wait for summer!

  3. I so hope you enjoyed When the Heart Cries okay. The quilting was only a smaller part of the story.
A Soft Place to Fall surely caught your quilter's eye.
I hope you enjoy your autumn days. Your beach walk sounds nice.
    Happy quilting and reading!

  4. Happy Easter! It's still cool here (spring is a little late arriving) but we had sun today, at least. The time change always throws me for a loop too for a few days.

  5. Great books this week. I've seen some of them around other blogs too. Might need to add When the Heart Cries to my wish list. Hope you have a nice week.

  7. Fall is my favorite season here. It comes as such a soft relief after a hot summer. But this spring has been so cool and breezy that I may promote spring as Top Season.

    Happy Easter!

  8. I am out of town, but it snowed in Pittsburgh. CRAZY!!

I can’t wait until we have warm temperatures.

ENJOY your week and your books. You have some good ones to read.

  9. Robyn Carr is an author that I'd like to try. Hope you are adjusting to daylight savings time. It's officially Spring here, but Mother Nature doesn't think so just yet ;) we still have snow on the ground which made our Easter Hunt outside yesterday a little chilly! Have a great week!

  10. Happy Easter! I was able to spend some time down at the beach, too. :)

  11. It's Spring here but twe are predicted to get 3-5 inches of snow in the next day or so. Ugh! I am so ready to be over winter.

I haven't read a Robyn Carr book yet. I'm thinking I really should. And I love DBF's books. I hope you enjoy it.

Have a great week and happy reading!

  12. Great choices this week Kathryn I've enjoyed some of Dorothy Benton Frank's books although she is not my favorite Lowcountry writer that title goes to Karen White and I in fact just turned in my review for her upcoming June release Dreams of Falling. We got 4" of snow for Easter yesterday very uncommon and what an April fool's surprise LOL

  13. I am listening to so many audiobooks that I'm the opposite of you...I can't seem to ever get around to listening to any of the many podcasts I would like to listen to! It's hard to fit everything in, but we're still getting snow here, and it's getting so all I want to do is stay home under a quilt and read even though the calendar says spring and time to be getting more active!

  14. So wonderful that you live that close to the ocean! We are about 90 min away by car - which I know is great - but it would be so nice to be able to just take a walk on the beach any day I like. Glad you got out to enjoy it on Sunday!

I am listening to a lot of podcasts, too - and keep adding more all the time! It's a balancing act between podcasts and audio books.

    Enjoy your books this week!

  15. I have the Kleypas and DBF books on my wish list - hoping to get the audios from my library. I also loved the new Robyn Carr book. Love that series and the books keep getting better - which is really saying something! Have a great week, Kathryn.

  16. Lovely lovely books. You must be enjoying all of them. How awesome to walk on the beach on Easter Sunday! I would look for Eastery shells...

  17. Lisa Kleypas is an author that I've been wanting to read. I love the covers for her books. I put one on hold at my library over a month ago and I'm just waiting for my number to be called. I hope you have a wonderful week. :)

  18. Enjoy the seasons. In the tropics hardly any noticeable change.

  19. I always struggle to get my head around the difference in hemispheres! Spring is starting to show here though we get about 3 days of actual spring and then a whole lot of summer! I'm still adjusting to daylight savings time. I like the extra light but I severely miss the sleep! I'm so glad you enjoyed The Family Gathering! I'm about to start that one. Hope you're having a great week!
