It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

badge

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week.  It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog   and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, anything in the world of kidlit – join them!

Well we are into the second half of the year. Right into July, I know some of you are experiencing now very high summer temps. Me - we've had some wonderful hard crisp frosts and glorious sunny days. Not all the time but enough to thoroughly enjoy.

I didn't get that much reading in this past week, but I did start a bookshelf quilt. Something I have been wanting to do for ages.  It is only in the early stages yet, but I am happily visualising it above my bed. I can't hang anything heavy there as we are earthquake prone, so a light quilt should be ideal!

Happy 4th of July coming up to USA reader/bloggers.

What I read last week:

Two review books.

  1. Fire season has begun here. The sky is cloudy and full of ash. At least it's not super hot yet. Your quilt project sounds lovely.

  5. Have a wonderful week! We are indeed having high temps at the moment, but since I spent most of the winter complaining and pining for warmer temps, I will not complain now. Or at least not much. :)

  6. The bookshelf quilt sounds lovely...looking forward to seeing it.

I really enjoyed DREAMS OF FALLING....I hope you do too.

SUMMER WIVES was good as all of her books are, but I have liked her other books more.

ENJOY your week, and stay warm. We are having high temperatures as you mentioned, but I love the heat. :)

  10. Oh, my gosh - I hadn't realized until you mentioned it that the year is now half-over! Yikes, there are so many things I haven't done yet! I better get busy - and a halfway point check-in on my annual goals would be a good idea, too. Thanks for the reminder!

Hope you enjoy your books & your quilting this week - crisp and cool sounds soooo nice! We hit 100 yesterday and it will be close to that again today. Ugh. Too hot to go outside even first thing in the morning.

Have a good week! And thanks for hosting the link-up!

  19. I really enjoyed Dreams of Falling and I need that new Beatriz Williams book! It looks so good and I love her covers. I'm really curious about The Art of Inheriting Secrets. I know nothing about it but between the title and the cover I feel like it's for me. Can't wait to see your thoughts on it. Hope you're having a great week!
