It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!
Well we are into the second half of the year. Right into July, I know some of you are experiencing now very high summer temps. Me - we've had some wonderful hard crisp frosts and glorious sunny days. Not all the time but enough to thoroughly enjoy.
I didn't get that much reading in this past week, but I did start a bookshelf quilt. Something I have been wanting to do for ages. It is only in the early stages yet, but I am happily visualising it above my bed. I can't hang anything heavy there as we are earthquake prone, so a light quilt should be ideal!
Happy 4th of July coming up to USA reader/bloggers.
What I read last week:
Two review books.
What I am reading at present:
Review book...
Up next:
Library book...

Fire season has begun here. The sky is cloudy and full of ash. At least it's not super hot yet. Your quilt project sounds lovely.
ReplyDeleteI hope to read Dreams of Falling soon...and I love the look of Summer Wives.
ReplyDeleteThe bookshelf quilt sounds lovely! Thanks for sharing...and for hosting.
I can't wait to see your bookshelf quilt!
ReplyDeleteI hope you will show us your bookshelf quilt when you complete it. Have a nice week. Thank you for hosting.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week! We are indeed having high temps at the moment, but since I spent most of the winter complaining and pining for warmer temps, I will not complain now. Or at least not much. :)
ReplyDeleteThe bookshelf quilt sounds lovely...looking forward to seeing it.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed DREAMS OF FALLING....I hope you do too.
SUMMER WIVES was good as all of her books are, but I have liked her other books more.
ENJOY your week, and stay warm. We are having high temperatures as you mentioned, but I love the heat. :)
I've seen The Summer Wives around but haven't read it. Hope it's a great read for you.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt sounds wonderful!
A bookshelf quilt sounds very cool. I want to see a picture!
ReplyDeleteThose books are all new to me. The one by Karen White is on my TBR. Happy reading!
It's very hot here. Summer has definitely begun. I could do without the humidity though. The summer Wives looks really good. I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI need to see that quilt!
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh - I hadn't realized until you mentioned it that the year is now half-over! Yikes, there are so many things I haven't done yet! I better get busy - and a halfway point check-in on my annual goals would be a good idea, too. Thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy your books & your quilting this week - crisp and cool sounds soooo nice! We hit 100 yesterday and it will be close to that again today. Ugh. Too hot to go outside even first thing in the morning.
Have a good week! And thanks for hosting the link-up!

It's hotter at home in MA right now than where we are right now. Summer Wives and Dreams of Falling are on my wish list. Hope you have a great week.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear what you think of The Summer Wives... and I hope you'll post photos as the bookshelf quilt progresses.
ReplyDeleteIt is stiflingly hot and humid here. When you say frosty I am really envious!
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear you having some crisp weather. The book quilt sounds interesting - I hope you will share some pictures. :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading!
Some frost would be excellent right now. The heat is ridiculous. Good luck with your quilt. Have a great week!

Oh those book quilts are lovely! Happy sewing!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed Dreams of Falling and I need that new Beatriz Williams book! It looks so good and I love her covers. I'm really curious about The Art of Inheriting Secrets. I know nothing about it but between the title and the cover I feel like it's for me. Can't wait to see your thoughts on it. Hope you're having a great week!
ReplyDeleteWe are having 80's here and I feel so blessed for being able to have air conditioning.
