Sheila at Book Journey runs It's Monday! What Are You Reading?
Into the second week of December! The year has gone so fast. At present I am sorting the challenges that I will do for 2015. I am keeping a list on the ones I think I will do on Pinterest, and will narrow them down as I go. Last week I signed up for The Eclectic Reader challenge - this is a true challenge for me, pushes me just a tad.
I also posted a challenge 2015 Women's Fiction Reading Challenge Take a peek.
What I read in the last week.
A reread. Had so forgotten so much of the story!
An Australian romantic suspense.
Very enjoyable.
What I am reading:
I am reading Fatal Affair by Marie Force - a reread of this romantic suspense book. I have read all the books in this series, new one out early next year. So I thought I would go back to refresh my mind of how it all started, and also complete my rereading challenge.
Still listening to Breathing Room by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. Another one to help me sign of the rereading challenge.
Up next:
I think I will read Little Mercies by Heather Gudenkauf, I know that many bloggers have read and recommended it.
Thanks - you've prompted me to think about what challenges I'd like to join in next year.
ReplyDeleteI plan to be more realistic this year :-/
I guess you do what you can do! I find the fact you can read a book and hit a couple of challenges helpful!
DeleteUgh... dont say 2nd week in December! How can that be? :)
ReplyDeleteI know!!
DeleteI am thinking about doing some reading challenges but there are so many. Looks like some good books you read this week!!!
ReplyDeleteI think they were good anyway! Yes heaps of challenges out there, but I only do the ones that appeal to me.
DeleteThey are definitely good. I think I found like three that I am going to do, just need to actually sign up!!!
DeleteAgree, it takes time to sign up, I do it when I am restless and too tired to read, but want to be using time well!
DeleteI also have Little Mercies by Heather Gudenkauf on my TBR (in e format).
ReplyDeleteI love that you posted about the challenges. I am going to start working on the ones I want to participate in next year--thank you for posting these two.
Yes I've heard that Little Mercies is good, I have it in paperback and want to read some of them before the 20th when I start a clear your ereader challenge!
DeleteI've seen a lot of posts about reading challenges, and it's got me thinking of them now too! I have one or two I think I'll join. And I know what you mean about December! :)
ReplyDeleteDo you believe I've never read a Jennifer Cruise novel? I don't think it's my thing but I'm conscious that I can't keep saying that if I've never tried one!
ReplyDeleteDeb
I think you might be right and it wouldn't be something you enjoy. She is often very witty and if you like romance its good. I actually liked it better the first time - taste changed a little since the first reading! However her books do fall into 'my thing'.
DeleteI can't believe it's the 2nd week in December, it's flying and I really need it to slow down!! Little Mercies was a 5 star read for me, a fave this year, hope you think so too. Haven't read anything by Lee Christine, will definitely keep an eye out for your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI signed up for Sheila's 1st book of 2015 after you mentioned it on Sherryl's guest post, forgot to put it in my Monday post, just gone back to edit it lol
Have a great week and happy reading :)
Heard good things about Little Mercies, Shellyrae has just said its a heartbreaker so .... tissues I expect! Liked Lee Christine and review up soon.
DeleteI've read most books by Jennifer Crusie and have enjoyed them, Little Mercies is a heartbreaker of a read.
ReplyDeleteHave a great reading week!
Shelleyrae @ Book'd Out
Tissues then I expect!
DeleteI can't believe it's the second week in December already! No challenges for me in 2014 and I'm considering that rule again for 2015. We'll see...
ReplyDeleteI've seen some great reviews of Little Mercies, too. Enjoy!
Before we know we will be saying the same about January!
DeleteI'm always tempted by challenges...I went overboard in 2013, but was more rational in 2014. Now I'm mulling over my plan for 2015.
ReplyDeleteMy recap: http://www.bookclublibrarian.com/2014/12/weekly-book-recap-89.html
Yeah, what I look for is ones I can do that I can read one book and cross off in a couple of challenges. Worked for me this year.
DeleteI love Jennifer Crusie! She is one of my favorite go-to comfort reading book authors! Bet Me is a cute one. :)
ReplyDeleteYes Bet Me is a cute one and I couldn't believe how well I had forgotten it, so shows I could probably reread a number of books of my shelves like 'new' reads.
DeleteI adored Little Mercies...hope you do too! And I have also enjoyed books by Jennifer Crusie, but haven't read any in a while. Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteYes its a while since I read anything by Jennifer Crusie and I don't think she is writing that much these days.
DeleteNice reading week!
ReplyDeleteand - getting your challenges creaeted & up is no small feat :)) well done.
Mentioned Full House in today's It's Monday post as well...
Thanks and thanks for the mention on your blog.
DeleteHi, Kathryn! It's a great idea to keep track of potential challenges on Pinterest. I only did the October R.I.P challenge this year. Still deciding on 2015...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the follow on Pinterest, I am just getting used to that social media network.
DeleteI love this time of year and signing up for all the new challenges! I keep a spreadsheet in an attempt to stay organized. Pinterest is a good idea, too. Enjoy your reading!
ReplyDeleteYes, some method of organisation for challenges is needed. I am keeping a page on my blog here too to help me track what I actually do sign up for.
DeleteI had some Jennifer Cruise titles but don't think I have read her yet.
ReplyDeleteI haven't fit in challenges for two years but I am eyeing them again now. They can be so much fun. :-) You have several that have me interested.
BTW- Does the Paperwhite Kindle "read to you"? I love that feature in my old Kindle.
I have so many books I want to read I rarely (almost never) do re-reads.
Martha I am just not sure if the Paperwhite Kindle 'reads to you', it probably does have that feature, I never used it on my older Kindle, as I just listen to audiobooks on my iPod. I don't know that I will do many more rereads, I am thinking, enjoy it the first time and move on!
DeleteI enjoyed Little Mercies. Good Luck, Kathryn with your challenges for 2015!
