It's Monday! What Are You All Reading?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading?
Sheila at Book Journey runs It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Hope you've all had a great week and those of you who have been battling ill health are on the mend I've been enjoying the summer weather, reading and viewing.  I reinstated the Sports' channels ( now I can watch all the cricket I want) and found I got a good deal by doing so. I dropped the Soho channel (HBO) and they told me I had an old plan while I was organising channels.  So I have a bigger bite of internet now for less money!

I watched Season 3 - six episodes of The Newsroom.  Loved it and sorry to see this drama go. Only reason I was paying for the Soho channel!

What I finished reading this week:

Great! Review up in a day or two

Big fan of this series!

For review in a week or so

At the moment I am reading:
Beach Girls by Luanne Rice
Dark Witch by Nora Roberts - audio
I believe there is a TV series being planned for the Dark Witch trilogy - interesting.

Up next:
The Unexpected Consequences of Love by Jill Mansell
Sea of Love by Susan Donovan
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah

  1. A TV series for the Dark Witch series? Interesting. I've enjoyed the previous adaptations of her books even though they do veer a bit to the cheesy side. I've got the Jill Mansell coming up as well and I'm really curious about the Kristin Hannah. Enjoy your reading!

    1. Yes I've watched a few of the movie adaptations but I enjoy the books more. I don't think I've read Jill Mansell before and Kristan Hannah I adore her writing!

    1. Brandie yes I am hoping to enjoy the Jill Mansell book, it's a little bit of a walk in the dark for me as I can't ever remember reading anything by her.

    1. I am loving Beach Girls and no Viki I didn't know that they made a TV mini series, just searched for it and found it, looks like from the little I read that they deviated a bit from the actual book. Yes I am really looking forward to KH's book - always a great read.

  4. Oh snap! I've been watching The Newsroom as well. I recently bought S1 & 2 on DVD (though may have mentioned that in an earlier post). I'm rewatching S1 before watching S2 for the first time. I hope that S3 is then out on DVD so I can just coasting along!

  6. Sometimes being able to watch your favorite sport is relaxing- and getting a good deal on channel lineups doesn't hurt! Enjoy the weather, and your reads too. :)

  9. Have still to watch The Newsroom - no access to it either. I've only heard good things about it. One day!

What did you think of The Rosie Effect? I haven't been hearing great things so I doubt I'll read it, unless someone really recommends it.

    1. There are those who have said they don't like it and those who say while slightly darker it is still very good. I actually might listen to it again to see what I might have missed! I'd certainly go and see the movie if it gets off the ground.

  10. I still have to read the Dark Witch series, but I've had it on my wishlist for ages. Do you enjoy the series? And if they have a TV series planned, then I definitely want to read it before the TV series starts.

    My IMWAYR post.

  11. The Nightingale ... what an exceptional read, I hope you think so too! I'll keep an eye out for your thoughts on Beach Girls, I think I've mentioned I've only read the one book by Luanne Rice and I wasn't a fan but Little Night was a very dark, depressing read. We've been doing lots of TV viewing while escaping the heat and humidity ... I love Chicago Fire and I'm now hooked on Scandal.
Have a wonderful week and happy reading :)

    1. I have high anticipation for The Nightingale. I have read a few of Luanne Rice, this is a 2004 book and its great. I really like it. I have read ones of hers that aren't quite as light though, but not the one you mention and I will steer clear of it.

  12. Wow, a tv series based on Dark Witch would be kind of cool! I would watch it if it were done well. I just mentioned on my blog today about our cable tv plan too, lol! :) Have a great week!

  15. I recently won a copy of "The Rosie Effect," but I still have "The Rosie Project" sitting on my Kindle. I'd better get to it!

  16. Sounds like you had a great week viewing and reading-wise. I hope they do make a film version of the Dark Witch trilogy--especially if they shoot it at Ashford Castle in County Mayo, which is a gorgeous site.

  17. I like J. D. Robb (isn't she also Nora Roberts?), but I have to read the "in death" books in order. I guess that's my OCD! Just kidding, but I do like to read series in order. I also like Kristin Hannah, just not sure which book to go to next.

    1. The In Death ones I would sure read in order. Pretty OCD myself!

  19. I just got an ARC of Nora Robert's newest The Liar (due in April). I've seen The Newsroom mentioned a lot lately but I'm not familiar with it, I'll have to check it out. I'm current watching Veronica Mars thanks to Amazon Prime.

    Happy Monday!

    1. Sarah just below Australia! New Zealand - about 3 hours flight to Australia away. Just finished Dark Witch ( audio) and enjoyed it - fairly typical kind of magical book by Nora R. But very good recreational listening so thumbs up to it.
