Sheila at Book Journey hosts It's Monday! What Are You Reading?
Monday greetings all! Well what a week, I am now cricketed out, congratulations to the Australian side, winning the world cup. Proud of our Black Caps too, first time we ever made it to the final. Now I can get on to things other than cricket!
This week I have been taking part in Bloggiesta week in a small way, I got waylaid on wondering about moving from Blogger to Wordpress and doing heaps of reading research! Final decision was not now anyway, because the cost to move was just more than I am willing to pay! Instead I am going to start one other blog on Wordpress on a self hosted site about life in general and retirement. It will give me some clues about possibly moving this blog in the future.
Also as part of Bloggiesta I decided to start a link up of those posts many of us do at the end of each month, noting our stats and other things. I will start it at the end of March, and bloggers can link as they do their posts in the following days of March 31st onwards. So if you are interested I invite you to join the Month in Review link up, this month or the next.
#FitnessReaders - I met my goals for the last week, new month ready to go!
What I read last week:
What I am reading at present:
Marking Time by Marie ForceOne Tiny Lie by K. A. Tucker - audiobook
Up next:
One True Love by Jodi Thomas
I'm keen to hear what you thought of The Little Paris Bookshop Kathryn. It's not a book I'd usually read but I've heard good things about it.
ReplyDeleteYup - good things from me, however may not be everyone's cup of tea.
DeleteAre you going to review The Paris Bookshop? I'd like to hear how you liked it, too.
ReplyDeleteReview in about a week. It is published here on the 14th of April so will post it about 7th or so.
DeleteCan't wait for your thoughts on The Little Paris Bookshop, I was declined as I expected, probably a good thing as I'm reading at snail's pace at the moment lol. Not that I'm a big cricket fan but I did catch bits and pieces, the NZ team had a great tournament. Now I'm off to check out some of your reviews since I wasn't around much last week. Happy reading and well done on the fitness goals ... I'm back in for April too :)
ReplyDeleteI've slowed a little on my reading too. NZ team gave us joy so that's all you can ask. I was so lucky to receive a copy from Hachette NZ for TLPB, it was a fun and thoughtful read, one where later you could open any page and ruminate on it.
DeleteSounds like a good week. I look forward to hearing what you think of The Martian.
ReplyDeleteReview for The Martian up in the coming week I hope!
DeleteAll in all a productive week. I want to get The Arrangement. I hope you enjoyed The Martian - I have that in my Audible Library. Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteYes Martha I did enjoy The Martian, different but great.
DeleteI've considered on and off going to self hosting but I always decide I can't be bothered, I'm happy enough with the free service. I loved the Martian, hope you did too.
ReplyDeleteHave a great reading week,
Shelleyrae @ Book'd Out
Hehe. Yeah I read your comment and I thought if Shelleyrae doesn't bother why am I!
DeleteStarting a new blog sounds exciting! Glad to hear you had a great week.
ReplyDeleteOh boy Pat, making errors already! Not undoable but unexpected!
DeleteWhen I first contemplated WP, I didn't want to move my blog, either, so I just started new ones over there...and kept going. I was having a lot of fun! LOL
ReplyDeleteThe new WP posting is horrific, but I have found a way around it via the dashboard.
I think it's a good idea to try it out, with a new blog. Enjoy!
I got Before the Storm this week, as you know...can't wait to read it. Thanks for visiting my blog.
I could end up the same if not careful. I don't know how you do it. I saw you had Before the Storm, not her best but still happy to read anything of hers.
DeleteFrom time to time I think about moving from Blogger to Word Press, but I don't want to incur an expense at this point, although I may feel differently in the future. I also don't know how steep the learning curve would be, which keeps me in status quo mode for the time being.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about The Little Paris Bookshop. The title brings back memories of my visit to Shakespeare and Co. in Paris last September.
The learning curve I don't mind, have worked in Wordpress before, but its the hosting part that bothers me as I would only move to hosted otherwise I'll keep with Blogger.
