Sheila at Book Journey runs It's Monday! What Are You Reading? While this meme is not fully active at present I will be linking up as well to the Sunday Post at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's been a mixed week for reading but getting through some listening while driving down to visit my sister who is in hospital and hasn't recovered as quickly as she hoped. No sign of my niece's baby as yet. Did I say she is a girl! I wonder if that has anything to do with it.
I am happy to say I made my goal for this week and went slightly over. I thought I was going to be below but the bad weather kept away on the last day of the week and hey presto it was a big tick week!
What I read last week:
Was a great week reading Women's Fiction - all very good reads.
What I am reading at present:
And still listening to The Liar by Nora Roberts.
Also listening to A Love to Call Her Own by Marilyn Pappano
Posts from the last week:
- The Summer Wind Mary Alice Monroe
- Bitter Greens Kate Forsyth
Well done on reaching your Fitreaders goal!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear your sister hasn't recovered as well as expected and I hope your great-niece arrives soon!
You for reaching and going over your goal :)
ReplyDeleteWell done on reaching you goal!
ReplyDeleteMy two girls came early which was good as I am very impatient!!
I hope your sister gets better soon! Hopefully your niece won't have to wait much longer for her baby to arrive. When I was born I was late but my younger sister was early. My mom almost didn't make it to the hospital in time. I think that our personalities reflect that too!
ReplyDeleteI loved Me Before You. I'll have to check out the other two books you liked. Summer Secrets has a very different cover in the States. I haven't read that Eloisa James novel but I've enjoyed some of her other historical romances.
Have a great week!
I loved Me Before You and Summer Secrets...the Cathy Lamb book is on my list.
ReplyDeleteHope your sister improves soon. Congrats on the coming niece! One of my nieces just had a baby girl.
I just realized that I have a LOT of nieces and only one daughter and two granddaughters. I need more, but I don't see that happening. LOL
Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
All my kids came a couple of weeks early and I was more than ready. I can't imagine if they'd been late! Hope your sister gets to feeling better. It's so frustrating when you don't get better as quickly as you think you should. I'm wanting to read The Liar and Three Weeks with Lady X. I haven't read nearly as much Eloisa James as I'd like too. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteGood wishes sent to your sister and niece on their conditions. Hope for a speedy recovery and a new bouncing baby girl also!
ReplyDeleteI have Bitter Greens on my kindle but for some reason haven't read it yet. Good review, and thanks for the links to the other bloggers who read it.
Have a great week!
Congrats on reaching your goal. I hope your new family member arrives soon and your sister kicks her cold.
ReplyDeleteI see you have The Liar. I'm wanting to read that too.
Here's my Sunday Post - http://fuonlyknew.com/2015/07/19/whats-new-on-my-bookshelf-117-and-the-sunday-post/
I'm really looking forward to your thoughts on Me Before You and The Bourbon Kings. Both are burning a hole in my TBR pile!
ReplyDelete*Woot woot* ... always feels great to reach your goals! What do you think of The Bourbon Kings so far? You had a lovely line up of books last week, looking forward to your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteHope your sister is feeling better soon and I'll keep my fingers crossed that baby girl arrives soon ... she obviously has a mind of her own already lol
