It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!
It's been a quiet week for me, some reading and gardening (although not nearly enough gardening!).
Watched some sport over the weekend. Nothing wrong with quiet!
What I read last week:
Stars of Fortune - great start to new trilogy: 4 stars
Along an Infinite Sea - 4.5 stars
Incapable - 4.5 stars
That Christmas Feeling 3.5 stars. (3 novellas to read out my last day in October)
What I am reading at present:

So time to read one that's been on my TBR a long time. One of those 2nd hand Book Fairs from a number of years past!!

- Cleopatra's Shadows Emily Holleman
- Fitreaders Check in.
- Heartsong Cottage Emily March
- Month in Review - October
The Secret of Everything looks good. I read Flight Lessons years ago - before I was reviewing. As I recall I liked it even though it is relationship drama which is not my fav genre.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have another good week reading and gardening.
I've got two of your books and looking forward to both of them = Beatriz Williams books are so good. Enjoy all your reads.
ReplyDeleteI guess I can work out what sport you watched over the weekend? I have to admit I really didn't care and didn't see any of the world cup. I was once into sport, but not for a long time now!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm kinda depressed to see Christmas books already but guess that's inevitable! Argh!
Ah yes! I didn't watch it live but watched later in the day! You have to have some interest in rugby here or you just get left for dust! My love is cricket but we are not nearly as good at that as rugby!
DeleteI just read what I see, not particularly because it's two months away from Christmas. Likely to read none around that time!
Wishing you more gardening time and I hope you like The Language of Flowers as much as I did. I've got The Secret of Everything on my list.
ReplyDeleteHa, I just had to scroll up to see if I was reading that! Of course I'm listening to it!! And yes heard great things about The Language of Flowers so picked it up at the library.
DeleteHope more gardening time comes your way. We just picked up leaves and pulled out all the annuals. Glad the Nora Roberts trilogy got off to a great start. I have yet to read the Cousin O'Dwyer trilogy. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteNise it is me that holds me back from the gardening... I prefer reading!
DeleteA quiet week can be really nice.
ReplyDeleteI liked Along the Infinite Sea. I still haven't read The Language of Flowers. It's been on my TBR list for years. Hope you enjoy it!
I Love Beatriz Williams...can't wait to read Along the Infinite Sea!
ReplyDeleteQuiet is good :)
I don't know where that place is on the cover of Along the Infinite Sea, but I want to be there! I've finally backed up my hard drive so now I'm cleaning up all the photos I've had saved on it forever. That means a lot of trips down memory lane. My husband and I have vacation fever now, even though we just got back! Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good reading week. A new Nora Roberts book, it looks like a good book. The Christmas book you read has some authors I love, I will need to see if I can find it!
ReplyDeleteI am eager to get Stars of Fortune...and I love the look of The Secret of Everything. Enjoy your week! Thanks for hosting....
ReplyDeleteI agree, quiet weeks are good! I haven't read anything by Beatriz Williams but the cover for Along the Infinite Sea drew me in. I'm thrilled to hear it's also a wonderful read. Oh yay, you've got The Language of Flowers up next ... I'm doing a happy dance lol. Hope you love it!! Stars of Fortune is on my reading list, just not sure when.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week Kathryn and happy reading and gardening :)
Yep! The wink was for you!
DeleteAbsolutely nothing wrong with a quiet week. And you certainly got a lot of great reading done. I haven't read any of the authors you've got listed here, but I've got several Nora Roberts books on my TBR list. Hope to get to at least one of them very soon. Thanks for hosting, and happy reading this week!
ReplyDeleteI'll take one of each of those books. They all look good.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading this week!
ReplyDeleteAll those books look so good. It's been awhile since I read Nora Roberts and Debbie Macomber, but I so love their books. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see Along the Infinite Sea was great - I've got that and hope to get to it soon! I'm kind of saving it for when I need something light!
ReplyDeleteGoing to check out your review of Along The Infinite Sea. I really enjoyed it. I like her books.
ReplyDeleteENJOY The Language of Flowers. I read it and enjoyed it. I haven't gotten to her newest book.
Have a wonderful week. ENJOY your gardening.

My It's Monday, What Are You Reading
I don't see a review...am I missing it? :)
DeleteNo Elizabeth no review posted for it yet. I have written it but will probably be next week before I post it. I see yours is coming soon.
DeleteOk...thanks.
DeleteMine went up today.
I see you commented. :) THANKS.
I'm trying to read some of the older books from my stack too. It is hard when there are so many interesting new ones to choose. Here is a summary of my week. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing how wonderful Beatriz Williams is but I haven't managed to read her yet. Soon, I hope!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved The Language of Flowers. And I love that the Christmas stories are starting. Happy reading everyone.
ReplyDeleteWould like to read "Along The Infinite Sea," and I really enjoy Debbie Macomber. Hope you enjoy doing this meme.
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of how many books you read each week! How do you find the time? I've been especially slow lately.

Enjoy your books this week -

Book By Book
Sue I am retired - first year. I do hardly anything, just enjoying the shear fabulousness of no commitments!
DeleteI agree....retirement is wonderful.
DeleteI have been on the fence about Along the Infinite Sea...but I do adore that cover!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your books this week!
I love a quiet weekend. I'm lucky as we usually have one where my man gets to relax after a hard week and the kids go outside to play with the neighbors.
ReplyDeleteThe secret of Everything looks great. I like quiet weeks like that :) Hope you have a good one!
ReplyDeleteYour books look great...I loved Infinite Sea...but I love this author's books.
ReplyDeletei so wanna read Along an Infinite Sea, I think I will start this one tonight
ReplyDeleteQuiet is good! I like the cover of Along an Infinite sea, it looks like a glamorous resort somewhere and I'd like to be there! Hope you have a nice week- with lots of gardening. It's always nice to spend time outdoors.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a rugby fan, but I always enjoy watching the All Blacks do the haka.
ReplyDeleteI'm also in my first year of retirement and enjoying more reading and gardening too. Love it that I can read all night if the mood takes me and not have to go to work feeling like death warmed up!
Beatriz Williams is a very popular author judging by the comments. The Secret Life of Violet Grant has been sitting in my reading pile for a while. It may be time to bump it up the list.
Enjoy your week.
Yvonne nice to know of someone else who is in their first year of retirement. The All Blacks do a great haka, wow their faces sure show commitment!
DeleteYou've got some wonderful reads awaiting you!
ReplyDeleteI love that you snuck in some Christmas stories, in October. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat list Kathryn, I've got my copy of Beatriz William's The Infinite Sea on my TBR shelf I can't wait to read it. She is one of my all time faves. Right now I'm reading and enjoying Heartsong Cottage.
ReplyDeleteSorry I haven't been around much lately :(
I am so excited to start reading Christmas books! I don't let myself start them until after Halloween ~ they are like a treat I don't want to rush. :) I am a weirdo. Lol. That Christmas Feeling looks really good!
