Sheila at Book Journey runs It's Monday! What Are You Reading? While this meme is inactive at present I will be linking up as well to the Sunday Post at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
I've had a good week, some reading, some sewing, lunch out, best friend visit, Playcentre time. Easy to see a week go by quickly. I was delighted to find on the doorstep one morning a parcel with a book win entered at Pat at Posting For Now. A beautiful coffee table book.
Fitreaders:
Another week where I achieved my goal. While it seems a small thing, knowing there are other readers doing this, gets me out there most days! This past week:
I was interested this week to watch the official trailer of The Martian for the movie, which I am really looking forward to. A little more now that I see Jeff Daniels with a role in it. Hope it is as good as the audiobook!
What I read last week:
Know Your Heart - A New Zealand contemporary romance.
Zac & MIa - Australian YA.
A New Hope - USA. Thunder Point #8
What I am reading at present:
Still listening to A Summer Wind by Mary Alice Monroe
Reading - A Honeysuckle Summer by Sherryl Woods
Up next:
The Perfect Son by Barbara Claypole White
I MUST read The Martian before the movie comes out. I've heard such good things about it. I just seem to always have so many books on my pile I don't get time to read other books. (If that makes sense!)
ReplyDeleteWell done on continuing to reach your exercise goals too by the way!
What a nice looking book! Can't go wrong with bridges of Paris. :) I know what you mean about the week going by- they all seem to be going by fast, lately.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful week ahead!
I work in Paris, so those bridges are familiar to me ;) Congrats on your Fitreaders achievement, it helps me too knowing I'm not the only one doing this. Enjoy your new books and have a great week !
ReplyDeleteI'm going over to check out fit readers, not heard of it before, sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteI hope Sheila's ok, how come they stopped the meme, I haven't participated in It's Monday What are you reading for awhile but I loved how she gave gift cards to one participant weekly, that was very kind and generous of her :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on winning Bridges of Paris! It is an impressive book. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI thought the trailer for The Martian looked good, I'm quite eager to see it.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week,
Shelleyrae @ Book'd Out
My husband liked THE MARTIAN but I haven't read it. Perhaps I will - or maybe just wait for the movie.... My post: http://fangswandsandfairydust.com/2015/06/sun-po-back.html
ReplyDeleteI guess I need to read The Martian before the movie. I like Jeff Daniels too. He's so versatile. Have you seen his HBO series The Newsroom? I really wanted that bridges book, but I'm glad it was you who stole it out from under me.
ReplyDeleteI am so looking forward to watching the Martian, the book was excellent.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!

Congrats on winning such a beautiful book! I'm putting The Martian on my TBR list -- I didn't know there was a movie in the works.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
My Sunday post: http://www.bookclublibrarian.com/2015/06/weekly-book-recap-107.html
Oh, I love gorgeous coffee table books! Enjoy....and I see some tempting books on your list this week. I need to get busy with the Summer trilogy by Mary Alice Monroe. I have the first one.
ReplyDeleteHere are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Have a great week!
Congrats on the win of the coffee table book! So gorgeous to browse through. I'm interested in Blueprints by Delinsky.
ReplyDeleteAnd good week for your walking too! I had to take off my Fitbit for this week because the band is bothering me in the hotter weather-- I have Fibromyalgia and have overly sensitive nerves. I have to buy another band and switch it out or something.
Have fun and enjoy your books this week, Kathryn.
I saw the trailer for The Martian and loved it too though I still haven't read the book. I need to move it up my TBR pile! Zac & Mia is also one I've been wanting to read.
ReplyDeleteYeah for a new Carr book, enjoy it. I did. I am loving the Paris Bridge book...i want to see inside!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on winning a book. Looks like you had a good reading week ahead of you.
ReplyDeleteMy husband at the moment is reading The Martian and is loving it. He wanted to read it before the movie comes out.
I still need to read The Martian!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great mail day! The book looks beautiful and I imagine it's so much fun to look through. You've got some great books going. I'm curious about they Sherryl Woods. I've loved several of hers but the last book by her that I read ended up being a DNF and I've been a bit nervous about her ever since. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI just got The Martian on audio because everyone is raving about it but I am not a huge sci-fi person, so I am a bit leery. Heard it was best on audio so that was what I decided to get. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy reading,
Stormi
Week in Review
Sounds like you had a lovely week and ooh The Bridges of Paris ... I bet it's beautiful photography! The movie coming out is just the incentive I need to finally listen to the audiobook.
ReplyDeleteWell done on hitting your step goal. Some weeks knowing that I'm checking in with fitreaders, is the only thing that keeps me moving lol.
Off to check out your review of Amy Snow, it's one I've been eyeing off on audible. Have a wonderful week and happy reading :)
Well done on smashing your FitBit goal out of the water!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the book win! I love book mail!!
ReplyDeleteIt's such a great feeling to hit your step goal for the week. I know what you mean. :)
Sounds like such a lovely week you had! I hope this week is equally great!
I saw the trailer for The Martian this week as well and am very excited. I bought the book, and didn't think I'd be able to get to it before the movie. But I think I saw the movie isn't out till November? So maybe I will. I did good with my walking last week, got 15 miles in! So I'm happy about that.
ReplyDeleteCheck out my Sunday Post
What a nice book to win! Great job on meeting your daily goal. Wearing my fitbit encourages me to move more. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteYou've had some good reading and great job with your fitness goals!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the beautiful win.
I am thinking I will listen to The Martian by the end of this month. I'll be reading A New Hope for the end of the month review.
Have a great week!
