Sheila at Book Journey runs It's Monday! What Are You Reading? While this meme is not fully active at present I will be linking up as well to the Sunday Post at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
Well some days are still winterish here in NZ with snow around and yet there is a definite promise of spring to come with some of the plants in the vegie garden starting to show growth after a few months of none. But it also means having to get out and mow the lawn again!
I've sort of been hibernating - reading, walking and I finished a 1000 jigsaw which I do in spurts. I think I started this way back in summer! Now I am about to start one called The Bookshop!
I managed to part with 80+ books to put into the fundraising Book Fair we have here in October. Guess who will be attending though!
I had a good week and went a little over my goal of 48200 steps for the week. Can't hurt me!
What I read last week:

Snow! Time is flying fast here and summertime will be over before we know it. :) Hope you warm up soon! Your hibernating activities sound fun...
ReplyDeleteMidnight Promises has a cozy cover.
Great purge! I have started another one, after removing a large bookcase from my office/guest room. Enjoy your new books, and thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteWow Kathryn! A big week! You got through so many books AND surpassed your steps goal and culled books. And 80 is very impressive (and brave!).
ReplyDeleteI read Wildest Dreams last week to. I am sad Thunder Point is ending but excited about the new series in 2016. Great job increasing those steps. I hope this week is a good one.
ReplyDeleteOh didn't know it was ending! It has been a little controversial, some readers loving it (me) and others not so much. Oh well, whatever she writes I will look forward to.
DeleteHave a great fit and reading week! :)
ReplyDeleteSnow ? What's snow like, already ? I haven't seen it for a couple of years and here, there have been 100°+ heat waveS (as if one wasn't enough). Congrats for going over your steps goal, it can only be profitable to you ! Have fun with the jigsaw puzzle and have a great week-end :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for winter here, I love snow but only on days where I don't have to drive anywhere!!
ReplyDeleteMy problem is I get rid of lots of books and then woops get more to replace them!!
Have a good week!

It's always fun to hear someone talk about winter, when it's summer here. Not sure if I ever will get used to that. Here's it's been a warm week and I am ready for autumn to get here. I love jigsaw puzzles, although I don't make enough time for them, maybe this winter, for some reason I associate puzzles with winter. I like the cover for Midnight Promises, was it enjoyable? I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteYou got some great books read this week! I love Sherryl Woods and have been really wanting to read Robyn Carr. I have the first 2 books in the Thunder Point series just waiting for me. That's great about the 80 book purge but I'd definitely be going to the sale too! The puzzle sounds fun. My husband and I did one not too long ago and had the best time. We're waiting for things to calm down a bit and we've got another one ready to go - maybe next week. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteWow, great job and book purging! I need to do it again. There are just some books I'm never going to get around to reading. The library sale will benefit. Nice job on the steps too. I keep forgetting you're in winter.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read the new Robyn Carr, Jodi Thomas and Kristan Higgins books.
great job with the book purging :)
ReplyDeleteI love jigsaw puzzles with the family, but we have cats and they love to lie on the puzzle or chew on the edges or even worse, knock down pieces to the floor for the dogs to eat! We don't have space for a craft table in a room with a door to do a puzzle in this house, oh well.
ReplyDeleteRansom Canyon looks like a good read, as do some of your others ones. I plan on starting the second in the Carr series, Thunder Point shortly.
Stay warm and relaxed during your winter.
I'm dreading the arrival of winter as we get closer and closer to autumn here in the States!
ReplyDeleteI liked If You Only Knew though it is different from her contemporary romance novels. There wasn't as much humor though there were some moments that made me laugh.
I think it would be hard to get rid of 80 books. I will probably downsize my book collection considerably whenever I end up moving.
I hope your weather gets warmer so you can have more time outside. It's so hot here in California and I can't wait for winter. I've been going through my paperbacks too and I will be using them for giveaways. My giveaway stack isn't as much as I hoped it would be so good for you for donating a lot of books. Maybe you'll find some good ones to add to your shelves. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteGood for you donating all those books, as long as you don't buy 80 when you attend lol. We've still got some cold weather in store, well nothing like NZ but I can't wait for Spring. Well done on going over goal with the walking!
ReplyDeleteI've got If You Only Knew up this week too, I love Kristan Higgins, hope it's up to her usual standard. Is that a new Jude Deveraux? I haven't read one of hers for years.Haven't done a jigsaw puzzle for years either, I think Mia would have fun messing it up lol
Have a wonderful week and happy reading :)
From what I hear the KH is a little different in this one so I am looking forward to checking that out. No, not a new J Deveraux, possibly picked it up at a book fair some time. About 2007 from memory and was a just okay read.
ReplyDeleteYes Mia would no doubt have a ball with a jigsaw!
I hope you enjoy the spring. It will be warm in VA until around Oct. Congrats on completing your jigsaw puzzle. Enjoy the book sale!
ReplyDeleteI love going into hibernation mode once in awhile. It's good for me. You got rid of 80 books!! Wow, that's incredible! Great work on the steps, too!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your thoughts on the new Higgins book. Have a great week!
