t's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!
Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee ofUnleashing Readersdecided to give It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, anything in the world of kidlit – join them!
My Week
Can you believe it's the last day of November? Hope all in the USA had a great Thanksgiving holiday. It was my turn to host my knitting group this week (just four of us). And they all went home with books from my bookshelf which was great.
We also had a family Christmas gathering of extended family on my mother's side at a cousin's place. That was very pleasant too and great to catch up with them all.

I've been wanting to try Blood Kiss! I can't believe we're nearly in December.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy Blood Kiss when you read it. I did.
DeleteCongrats to Greg and Kathy. I loved The Seafront Tea Rooms, hope you do too, I think I read that one, not audio. But I picked up The Secret of Everything using an audible credit, hopefully next week for it.
ReplyDeleteI think I'd like your knitting group, not that I can follow a pattern or anything, I can just knit a square lol but it would be fun to get some tips and talk books. Glad you enjoyed the family get together, takes some doing getting everyone together with our busy lives.
Have a wonderful week and happy reading :)
Sheree, liking the Tea Rooms book, just getting into it though, and as there are such changes of scenes at beginning just getting my head around the characters.
DeleteIt is hard to believe November is at an end and time to think of Christmas. Glad you had a nice get together. What did you think of Blood Kiss? I haven't read a Zane Grey since I was in middle school! Congrats to the winners. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteHehe about the Zane Grey - same here until I needed a challenge book that was published before I was born! Liked Blood Kiss, thought it was interesting and low key with couple of the Brothers getting there nose into the action.
DeleteThanks again for the giveaway! I agree, December already? Good grief. Hard to believe.
ReplyDeleteI love the cover of the Seafront Tearooms. And glad you got to get together- it's that time of year when it's nice to see family for the holidays. Hope you have a wonderful week :)
The fastest year yet Greg! Yes 'tis good to meet up with extended family.
DeleteI requested The Seafront Tearoom book from Netgalley and have not heard from them as yet! hopefully it will come. I love the cover myself.
ReplyDeleteHope it comes your way Mystica. Think I saw it on NG too, but wasn't until Sheree and Kristin liked it that I headed towards it.
DeleteThe Seafront Tea Rooms looks tempting....and I enjoyed that Barbara Delinksy book. I read it before my blogging days, but I still have a copy on my shelves.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week, and congrats to Greg and Kathy.
Yes the B Delinksy was a very good read. She is an author I enjoy.
DeleteWe had an extended family Christmas gathering this weekend, too! So much fun when we all get together. Love both the cover and title of The Seafront Tea Rooms, and I enjoyed quite a few Barbara Delinski books years ago.
ReplyDeleteYes I always like to see a good enticing cover on a book and get really annoyed when the cover is not up to scratch.
DeleteLooks like you had a good reading week. Vanessa Greene book and Sarah Morgan book look like they could be good. Hope you enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteKnitting sounds like fun and glad you had a good family visit too.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Zane Grey in a long time. The Seafront Tea Rooms does have a lovely cover.
Have another great week!
A family Christmas gathering already Kathryn? Argh! Mind you, I did have an end of year drinks thing to go to last Sunday so I can't be too shocked. I know a few friends who are having their Xmas work functions soon so I guess everyone has to get in and book something before they run out of dates.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week!
Some of my extended family lumped Thanksgiving and Christmas into one big celebration this weekend too. There are so many of us, it's just easier that way.
ReplyDeleteMy dad and grandfather love Zane Grey but I don't think I've ever read one of his books. I have read one or two Louis L'Amours though!
Enjoy your week!

Books :D
ReplyDeleteWe celebrated little Xmas on Saturday, so first taste of xmas here too
I hope you enjoy Queen of the Road when you get to it! You have some lovely looking reads this week.
ReplyDeleteI daren't think about it being the end of November as it just reminds me I have to start getting ready for Christmas. I never do anything till the fist of December and it had felt like a long time away! You have such a great mix of books on your weekly list. I want those tea cups!
ReplyDeletelooks like you had a great week! Hope your next is just as great. :) I love the holiday season.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe Thanksgiving is over already. Time is really flying.
ReplyDeleteYour books look so good. The Sarah Morgan book has my interest. Hope you enjoy your reading and have a great week!
Hi Kathryn, I love Sarah Morgan's Puffin Island series, too bad its now being bundled with other HQN authors here in the US but I've been getting the UK versions. I'm just finishing Along the Infinite Sea by Beatriz Williams and am finally going to start catching up on my Outlander series reading with A Breath of Snow and Ashes. Great post!
ReplyDeleteI cheated Debbie with the cover! Will put the combined story on when I review the book and also tell HQN they shouldn't combine!
DeleteWell I think the reason they're doing it this time is to increase her sales. She has another new series coming out starting in late May. I'm hosting Sarah on my blog she's actually ending my blog blast this year and she's talking a bit about her new upcoming series.
DeleteOkay, I guess a reasonable reason! Sorry to see this series go as she has it peopled with people she could pick up stories for! Ask her has she ever thought of self publishing like Marie Force! Anyway I am sure her new series will be fantastic, she has the gift!
DeleteThat is so great that you have a knitting group! I would love that.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Greg and Kathy!!
ReplyDeleteI've read another of Vanessa Greene's books and really quite enjoyed it - a nice light read almost.
The holidays are really great for catching up with family, especially extended family! I hope you have a lovely week!
I haven't been able to decide whether to add The Seafront Tea Rooms to my tbr list or not so I'll be curious to see what you think of it in the end.
ReplyDeleteI hope you love The Seafront Tearooms as much as I did. It was such a sweet read. I see there is a different cover.
ReplyDeleteAwesome on sending folks home with books. Love that. I am always lending my books out. :)
You had quite a few posts last week.
ENJOY this week - I can't believe it is the last day of November either. CRAZY how fast time flies.

Hi Kathryn! I'm finally arriving to take part in IMWAYR! You look like you are doing a bang-up great job! I think everyone is intrigued with your reading list too! So, it's off to the holiday season - hope yours is all you want it to be! And Happy Reading!!
ReplyDeleteGreat. :)
DeleteI really need to read The Ones We Trust - I'm just waiting to find the time! Your knitting group sounds like fun and how nice that they were all able to take some books home :)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a nice week!!!
The Sea Front Tea Rooms looks like my kind of book and I've really enjoyed the Sarah Morgan books I've read though I haven't started this series yet. The knitting group sounds like so much fun and what a great way to get rid of some books!
ReplyDeleteTwo authors I really like made your list. I have always enjoyed Barbara Delinsky, and J.R. Ward is one of my favorites. Hope you enjoyed them!
ReplyDeleteWell done, Greg and Kathy!
ReplyDeleteUnusual to find a Zane Grey in your mix of books. I've read a few of his novels over the years and enjoyed them.
Enjoy your week!
How fun you got to combine knitting with books! I am trying to get my friends interested in a knitting/crafting group but I am not sure it is going to work out. Maybe after the holidays. :)
ReplyDeleteOh how fun to have a knitting group and other readers in it :) Morgan's books have been tempting me this past year. I really need to try her out.
