Sheila at Book Journey runs It's Monday! What Are You Reading? While this meme is not fully active at present I will be linking up as well to the Sunday Post at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
Hope the week treated you all well with lots of great reading.
I completed my goal of 48 300 steps for the week with one day to spare. As Saturday was a busy day for me that was a plus.
This month I have been following Bobbi Dumas Read a Romance month. Each day it has three authors who have a post and a giveaway, mostly for the USA but some International. Authors coming up in the following week.
If you are a romance reader I hope you are not missing out on this great array of authors.
What I read last week:
What I am reading at present:
Up next:
Running Like China by Sophie Hardcastle. ( memoir about mental illness) Goodreads
The Beast's Garden by Kate Forsyth
Posts from the last week:
- Brown-Eyed Girl Lisa Kleypas
- The Liar Nora Roberts
I like the look of a couple of your reads last week Kathryn!
ReplyDeleteWell done on your steps as usual!
I'm also about to start doing something fitness wise. Do you have recommendations re pedometers or (more expensive) options?
I use a F itbit One that I clip on to my pocket. It then is synced to my computer and tracks for me the weeks goal and steps I've done. I find then joining in with a few other book bloggers on Fitbit just keeps me motivated. I don't aspire to walk as much as many of them, but it keeps me honest at my own pace. Not sure of price about $160 NZ so about $130 or so Aus would be my guess. Whatever you choose I guess the exercise is what is good!
DeleteHappy Sunday, and hope you had a nice week. Your reads look nice, and the romance event looks fun- neat idea.
ReplyDeleteNice work on the steps! And I love the look of The Summer's End, sounds like a good book for this time of year!
ReplyDeleteI loved Bitter Greens by Kate Forsyth, and I"m excited to read her new one. Great work on the steps! Have a great week! :D
ReplyDeleteNice week you had, Kathryn, and I don't understand how (oh, yes, I do - vacation!) I missed the romance month giveaways. I'm gonna have to be vigilant next week so I can participate in international ones :)
ReplyDeleteAnd you're doing well with your fit-reader goals, that's great.
Have a fantastic week ahead and happy reading.

I do all my challenge stuff in the winter - when I have more time to spend. The Romance one sounds interesting. I use a clip on fit bit too. I also watch what I eat pretty carefully. The clip on fit bit doesn't do sleep and stuff but I am amazed how hard 10 k steps is hard to do even if someone is as busy around the house and works out.
ReplyDeleteWell done completing your step goals. :) I really want to read a Nora Roberts book. I just have to pick which one.

Lots of romance lately...I'm itching to read more of that genre ! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI do love mixing the romance in with my mysteries and thrillers; it brings a little "lightness" to the fray, although some romantic stories aren't that light...LOL.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy Susan Wiggs, too, and I'm looking forward to starting the Mary Alice Monroe trilogy this week. Thanks for visiting my blog, and have a great week!
I'm checking out the Romance Month as we speak. I only read certain ones but this offers a huge array of authors to check out.
ReplyDeleteI add a romance here and there each month, or more frequently a romantic suspense, and read "the usual suspects" of: Roberts, Carr, Kleypas, Stewart, Macomber, Webb, Griffin, Krentz, Anderson, etc. I need to branch out more and discover some new talent. I don't like the really sappy, sweet romances nor the erotic ones, so I have to be choosy with my picks.
Thanks for helping me find some. And I do love Susan Wiggs, have read several by her but not her newest two or three.
I'm like you on the romance front totally. Sometimes I get caught by something a little sappy or erotic but on the whole I like it as Wiggs, Carr, Kleypas etc dish it up!
DeleteThe Read a Romance calendar looks awesome. There's a lot of authors that I'm not familiar with but I see several I want to try. I have the Wiggs and am looking forward to reading it. Her books are just always so nice! Great job with your steps this week! I'm really hoping to get back into an exercise routine this week. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI love the cover to Starlight on Willow Lake. The romance giveaway posts sounds fun, and yes to Krentz/Quick...one of my favorite authors.
ReplyDeleteOoo love Quick. She's such a fun author. I hadn't checked out the Read a Romance bit. Looks like a good time :)
ReplyDeleteI liked If You Only Knew and I want to read Brown-Eyed Girl. The Susan Wiggs book looks good too.
ReplyDeleteGood week :)
ReplyDeleteGreat week! The Beast Garden looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your steps!!! The Read A Romance sounds like fun and I a couple authors I've enjoyed reading. I'll have to check this out. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI came across The Beast's Garden somewhere else recently and it sounds great. I love the cover of Starlight on Willow Lake. Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteGotta check out the Read A Romance site. I love the book covers (different from ours in the States). Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteYay for meeting step goals! I haven't read a Wiggs book in a long time, but I have that one on my list, and can't wait to see what you think! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteWell done on all those steps! I need to up mine!
ReplyDeleteHave a good week!
