Sunday Post. #Fitreaders. What Are You Reading?

badge for Sunday PostIt's Monday! What Are You Reading?
Sheila at Book Journey runs It's Monday! What Are You Reading? While this  meme is not fully active at present I will be linking up as well to the Sunday Post at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

We just had a week of cold winter weather, usually do about this time of year. Snow up around hills behind where I live. However much of rest of country was snow covered so we always get off lightly. I actually enjoy cold weather although not so pleasant to walk in.  I started the week well walking wise but drifted off a little with cold weather.

Sunday my family are all gathering to celebrate my Dad's birthday - 91 and still living at home alone. We have a new baby on the way with one of my nieces so we are hoping for a July 13th baby, as that's Dad's actual birthday. Of course this baby girl will have her own opinion of when it's time to make her way into the world!

Month in Review Meme starting at end of March 2015

Meme badge

Starting at the end of March I would like to invite you to join a Month in Review meme, hosted here on the Book Date.  This will give us the opportunity to see what others are sharing at the end of each month,  visit and comment.

If you already do an end of month review, keep your format and just link up.  If you are starting with one this month - great.  Your month in review can be whatever you want.  If you want to use the badge above do so. Prefer your own - go for it.

On the last day of each month, I will put up the link post and you can link whenever you have published your post, over the following days. Do consider joining me.

Month in Review Meme

This week I am taking part in Bloggiesta week.  There are a number of mini-challenges that we can participate in.  The one I felt drawn to was the Making Memes challenge by Joy over at Joy's Book Blog.  Not that I had that in mind when I began the week.

The one I am proposing to start up is the Month in Review meme.   Many bloggers already look back over the month and share whatever they choose - for example number of books read, number of reviews, books bought etc etc.  This was my February Looking Back post. A meme would bring all these posts together and give us the opportunity to connect and comment.

So what do you think?  Do you already do some kind of looking back over the previous month post?
Would you be interested in linking your post up to this meme?  Questions? Thoughts?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading?
Sheila at Book Journey runs It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Well last week was a big week for me as I retired from forty years of teaching, mostly at the same school!  My favourite gift was a drawing completed by an eleven year old student in her own time. I love it!

Last week I read:
This finished up a series - Whispering Mountain
Obviously a western!
Zane Grey started me on westerns!

A well written cozy mystery

Reread and Audiobook version
Excellent.

At present I am reading:
A Light in the Wilderness by Jane Kirkpatrick.
This is fiction based on a real life person - African American Letitia Carson back in America in the mid 1800's.  I didn't realise this as I began to read, but going online when I was 20% into the book I found a little more information.

One Plus One by Jojo Moyes - audiobook

Up next:

The COYER challenge has begun so for the next few months I will be reading some free or almost cost free ebooks.  You know those ones you click on because they are free, but then I never get around to reading!  NetGalley books can count too.

There is also a giveaway hop - Midwinter's Eve (cough! cough!) I am participating in even though summer here!  You might as well take a chance.  $15 Amazon voucher or Book Dep book is up for the taking.  If you have left a comment on this post you have already fulfilled the condition that gives you 3 chances!

Blogoversary (2nd) on the 28th of December and I will be running a Giveaway from 28th to 11th January.
